Normani Announces a Tour… Is This Actually Real?

Hey guys, what’s up?

So, I was scrolling through Twitter, and I saw a post talking about a tour from Normani. At first, I thought it was from one of those parody pop culture accounts, but it was from a legit source, Pop Base. My immediate reaction was, “No, no, no, no!” I figured maybe they got it wrong because that does happen sometimes. We all make mistakes.

But I just couldn’t believe that Normani or anyone from her team would actually put this out there. Do they know how much of a joke this makes her look? How ridiculous and delusional it would seem if she actually said something like that?

Well, it turns out it’s true. Normani had an interview with Us Magazine and responded to a question about her music where she literally said that “they” were thinking about it and that there are plans for a tour.

Girl, who is coming to see Normani? Seriously, I want to know. That album went nowhere, the singles weren’t promoted, and there are no music videos out. Like, on what grounds is she planning a tour? Girl, what is this delusion?

At this point, it feels like she’s just saying things, the same way she’s been talking about the album for years.

Honey, your career is struggling. Get some buzz going around a new song, and then we can talk about a tour.

Realistically, a handful of people might go see her perform, mostly for her old stuff. Honestly, I would go and see her because there are people who want to see her win. But let’s think about the optics here.

Can Normani really afford to be the internet’s punching bag again, to become a laughing stock on social media when the arenas end up mostly empty? Or worse, performing in something the size of a school auditorium?

And who is even investing in this tour? That’s a much bigger question.

Normani, girl, c’mon, don’t do this to yourself. Maybe focus on modeling—you don’t have to do the music thing if it’s not working out. It’s okay to move on.

Chloë and Normani's careers are almost in the same place... except that Chloë seems to genuinely want to make and release music

It's just so sad 😢. She HAD the opportunity with Motivation. She should've made the pop music she wasn't crazy about, then pushed for more slow jam R&B, gradually transitioning to the sound she really wanted. Instead, she kept edging everyone—including her fans—about creating the "perfect" sound, only to end up with a middling album that's OK at best. I love some songs off Dopamine, but if the only real hit was Wild Side—released years ago—while Cardi B now is at an existential point in her career... girl, you had your MOMENTS. Love Lies, Waves, Dancing With a Stranger—you and your team just didn’t have the savvy to capitalize on that momentum. The music you ended up with is just so soft-spoken. Pretty but very understated.

I think she could definitely do a tour, just needs to make sure her label books smaller venues

Tate Mcrae is under the same label and is absolutely THRIVING right now.

At this point, we've given Normani enough grace. She is part of the problem and this makes her look a tad delusional.

There is no "right" way to be an artist. But everything she's done has been all wrong from a marketing standpoint.

No music videos?? No tiktok challenges?? VERY few interviews and the ones we got were filled with contempt for her own songs/album??

My best guess is that RCA and Normani have clashed one too many times on how to promote her, and it's now at a point where they've given up because they can't get her to agree with them. RCA was 110% right to have her debut with Motivation and promote it heavily, but apparently Normani didn't like that whole era and spoke openly about 'my label made me put it out'. That was a huge slap in the face to the fans who supported her from the start.

I love her but im so tired of the empty promises. Im over it. It kinda feels like she doesn’t even like her own album tbh. :( She could promote it if she wanted to. But instead her manager has to encourage her to talk about it in interviews.

The industry has changed so much the last few years I feel like she missed her moment during the motivation era. RCA is not giving her any support plus years of bad management. It’s a cycle of the same bad habits over and over. It seems like she’s drained from all the behind the scenes issues she’s been dealing with. Normani has the talent to turn things around don’t count her out yet.

I really feel bad for her. Her label clearly has no interest in putting money behind her. It’s a shame and I know she goin through it! I’m disappointed as hell.

She needs to go indie and find her true solo authenic sound. Its why Lauren Jauregui gets away with flying under the radar despite also coming from 5H but Normani doesn't, expectations set too high that since she is signed. In reality its shocking that only 2/5 of 5H have full length solo LPs after all this time

She had more than enough time to prepare for a comeback I don't feel bad for her anymore

I forgot she even had an album out this year.

She should've made a video for Candy paint because it was the popular one from the album, and because Latrice from Jam Republic made choreography to the song but she instead didn't do much with that song. The roll out felt rushed and not much thought or effort was behind it. Its lowkey starting to look like Music isnt Normani's career, but a hobby instead.

A tour? For who? For why? For when? We have no performances, music videos and no promotion and marketing and every other interview, she sounds disinterested in her own projects. I wanted more for her, but she did this to herself along with her team. Idk why she went to SabotageCA, but they did her dirty. They have a whole history of doing artists dirty, so I'm confused, but a Delusional

Normani absolutely has no business going on tour. Once upon a time an artist only went on tour and put out deluxe albums when the music was good and commercially successful. Now every artist releases deluxe albums and goes on tour even when the album isn’t good or selling. Benchmarks of success seem to not exist in the music industry anymore.

Kinda weird & mean to call her delusional, when she's clearly not in charge of her own career 🤷🏾‍♂️ She literally filmed MV's, that her LABEL wouldn't release 🎯

I’m not even sure if this is the label’s fault or Normani’s. Surely her label isn’t holding her hostage and preventing her from posting something on Instagram? I mean, like normal human communication with her fans, not spam with staged photoshoots no one cares about. I don’t understand why Normani doesn’t seem to care about anything. I feel like it’s been her fault all along.

2024 is almost over. Her album came out back in June. At this point, Normani should just get back in the studio and start fresh with new music. Dopamine have came and went. There is no need to continue the era.
