Connect to Oracle database with SQL Developer for MAC OSX.

This video contains a total demonstration of how to connect to oracle 12c release 1 on Oracle linux server 6.4 64 bit from MAC OSX Mountain Lion 7.0 using SQL Developer 4.0.3.16.84. What is the network type mode in virtual box, I am getting network adapter error with the connection "Network Adapter could not establish the connection" if i am using NAT connection mode in virtual box, cann't ping the ip or connect the DB on virtual box through mac terminal if i am using bridge connection mode, i am able to connect bu getting same network error, please help on it

Do you need the instant client installed, like at the windows platform, they have to download intant client and do a few changes.

Hello there first of all you are very good at explaining things in detail thanks once again. Now as going through your comments Oracle 12 c is not available on Mac OS so how can I get oracle 12c as I need to make one web app for my client and I wAnt use Mac. I want to access database in Eclipse so what I did till now is I have installed virtual box and put the image of windows 7 64 bits on it and In that windows I have installed Oracle 12c but now I want to gain access on database from macbook in eclipse what should I do. I am totally stuck please can you make tutorial on this please I am waiting for your reply anxiously.

Does the address works everywhere for the command ssh oracle @ 192.168.8.109 everywhere. When I gave the command for virtualbox or oracle DB developer VM I get the connection timed out message. Am I missing something

I have download sql developer latest version and also jdk latest versjon. . i dont want any remove connection.. just want to SQL query practise on my local mac os. Just create table, insert update, delete, drop, join... and other statement.. . AFter installation sql database nothing open. dont know why.. . i have 10.10.4
