Hol up I kinda have a theory(don't have to read if u dont want to). My theory is that the mom had a toxic/abusive husband who she had a daughter with, and when the dad left them the mom married another man who was kind and nice to her who she had a son with but the husband ended up dying. She favors her son more because she is only thing he has left of her caring husband and hates her daughter because she is a constant reminder of her mean husband. I hope you can see where Im going with this.
