Our 10th episode of a recurring series, Gardening Questions and Answers! Once again, I'll answer your questions about vegetable gardening as best as I can. I try to select the questions I believe that I know well, if your question doesn't show up, it is either that I do not have the expertise to speak on the subject, or I didn't have time to cover it in a brief format. Let's learn together! Leave your questions in the comments.

In this video we'll answer the following gardening questions:
1. Can you root tomato plant cuttings?
2. What's wrong with my plant?
3. How to control Aphids?
4. Do you compost garden plants?
5. Please recommend a heat-tolerant tomato.
6. What kind of birds eat tomatoes?

Great to learn all these. I think aphids love carrots too. I don't grow carrots YET because my garden is very tiny. And yes the Juliette has a shiny thick skin. and it keeps fruiting for months

We have shared your account with the majority of new gardeners we come across. You do an exceptional job of keeping to the informational side of why things happen (analytical types like myself thrive on that stuff!). Plus, the lack of drama and limited arm waving manner you possess is a huge plus. Why does my millennial generation think they need to interact like cartoon characters to keep someone's attention... it escapes me. Keep up the good work. Knowledge is key to stress free gardening. Because of that we can't say a big enough thank you.

Also, our cantaloupe garden has officially hit the in-ground compost pile. It seems like overnight, they have over taken our yard haha
Would enjoy hearing your take on melon (cantaloupe and watermelon) vine tending. Until next time, happy gardening!

I’m from NC zone 7b. Watching your channel has assured me that I’m really doing the best I can in my zone. This is my third year gardening and you have been an awesome inspiration and teacher. Watching someone else struggle with the same problems I have makes me feel like I’m not alone in this.

I have started to gather more straw for my garden. Don't worry, I remembered your tip about the aminopyralids and always ask before buying any from the local farmers who sell it in my area. Thank you for that tip.

70, 000!! Congrats Scott. When you get to 88, 000 does Doc Brown show up with his DeLorean to show you the Gardens of the Future on the Elon Musk Mars Colony #2? 😁

I just started a compost bin. I don't know about the chicken. I know that is stinky. Still all great information. 💯🌴🌻🤗😀🌸💯👍

Hello Scott! We are new subscribers :) My daughter and I were watching this morning and when you said mockingbird being your state bird, she said "oh, he must be in Texas too!". We are a bit north of Houston. Really enjoying your videos!!

You could grow comfrey or borage. To put in your brew. Google it. Borage is much easier to grow because it doesn't have to be stratified.

I'm also doing the home brewed fish emulsion. Some molasses, if you can't get fresh fish, canned fish, compost, and other things I can't remember right now there's some good articles on it online.

1 part rubbing alcohol to 6 parts water + 1 or 2 drops dish liquid in a spray bottle. Works amazing on spider mites, aphids and most bugs, (probably not squash bugs, though) for me. Try it and you will always keep a bottle handy. :) i put meat scraps un my compost one time and had to hire an exterminator for the rats. Never again. Maybe that's why you have rats.

What do you do for you day job? I find it is hard to find time to garden regularly. I know only spending some time in the mornings before work could work, but it is hard to wake up and make it a regular chore. Thank you, love the videos

I planted zucchini and yellow squash in pots. They are done! Decimated by powdery mildew, squash bugs, etc... My question is, what should I do with the soil? Is it okay to reuse? I plan to use the pots but I’ll disinfect them first. Thanks for the help. 😁

Hi Scott, thanks for all the great advice. My tomato plant is just starting to produce tomatoes. I have gave one gallon of water with 2 Tums crushed up in the water once already. How often should I do this. Thanks!

How can I save seeds from peppers and know that they will grow true to type? I'm planting a few different varieties and I don't know how easily they might cross-pollinate. Do peppers self-pollinate? I was thinking of covering a blossom with a little organza bag until the pepper fruit sets. Do you think that would work? Love all of your content Scott, very Interesting and informative! Thank you
