Your foster care journey is so touching. Thank you for being so vulnerable and brave sharing your experiences. ❤️

This video is so lovely. I also appreciate how open you are about fostering. We adopted my little sister when I was a child myself, but have dealt with the system for my entire life. I've seen first hand how hard it can be. The work that you do is so important. You and your family are such kind souls. May God bless you. ❤ [I added that book to my list on scribd] Again. Thank you so much. It means more than I can say.

Good call on Anna Karenina - I enjoyed the book but it does have a lot going on (especially characters to keep track of) so it probably is better not to be reading a whole pile of other books at the same time. I totally forgot about Hey Readerathon - I might see if I can do a book or two of it!

I'm currently reading A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking. I can't wait to start my readathon books tomorrow.

My parents did foster care for a few years & it is a heartbreaking experience for sure. We had a little boy that we were about to start the process of adoption for & then the opportunity for him to be adopted by a family that had one of his siblings already came up so we let him go with that family. Months later, we learned that family was horrible & we have no idea how they were approved to adopt a dog much less a child. I'm still so angry over that & I was about 14 years old. America's foster system is awful! God bless your family for caring & doing what you can.
I need to read Forever Or A Long, Long Time although I'm sure it'll rip my heart out.

I love that DNF pile and then letting someone pick one for you to finish! We just finished The Train to Impossible Places as our read aloud. It was light and fun (though a bit long for a read aloud). We started The Hiding Place as our next read aloud. It is starting with a lot of back story. I am not minding it but it isn't Sam's thing at least yet. We finished the first 2 1/2 chapters and the stuff at the beginning (there was quite a bit). Loving the Hey Readerathon already. I did my book in a day prompt yesterday and then started my sequel prompt.

Father Brown is excellent. So much wit and humour but a lot of grace and wisdom too in short mystery stories.

How do you get time to read with all you do though? A admire you.

I really can’t wait for the readathon 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I was thinking an interesting theme might be to read genres you don’t typically read. I’ve been trying to push the boat out a little this year and reach for romance and historical fiction, which I usually avoid but it’s been a lot of fun. I really want to pick up Forever or a Long Long Time. It’s on the wish list :)

7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle is amazing. I read it in one sitting and am already thinking of re-reading it.

Far From the Tree by Robin Benway is a YA about adoption and foster care, and it was amazing but also wrecked me emotionally!! :)

I still haven't totally picked out my books for the Hey Readerathon. I have my sequel and letters in the title but I have so many options for the others that I think I will just decide in the moment what I'm in the mood for

Hello. I’m in the middle of reading a sports romance. I read a lot of contemporary romance books.

I've been iffy about starting any books by V.E. Schwab. I feel like she's one that people either really like or are just kind of meh about.

A reading vlog theme that could be interesting would be trying out the debut novels of some of your favorite authors--assuming you haven't read them already. It's something I've thought about doing with some of mine but just haven't gotten around to yet.
