Um, there are no Teleporters in the game. That's just wrong. I think you're referring to Obelisks. If you don't even know this BASIC info then you shouldn't be making tutorials kid. And there ARE thralls around everywhere, so again, you're just wrong. Unbelievable. Give it up.

Number 1, another good pro of that location is the sheer number of annoying mobs that could make raids more difficult. Spiders that shoot crippling poison and locusts that poison as well.

N.1: The Silkwood. Honestly, what kind of raider would be so bold and foolhardy to raid a base in such proximity of TWO Spider-boss brood queens? Of course, a trickier thing is to make sure that your unwitting "defenders" wont eat you first xD

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think swimming stops you from dragging a thrall...The island bases might be a bit trickier since you'll have to build a bridge or something?

you can make the tallest island pretty mush unraidable.... it take alot alot of resources but it can be realy hard to raid!

I don’t know much about the purge, don’t have it turned on in my private server, but don’t enemies spawn in and on top of your base if there isn’t an obvious access route? I’ve got one base I’ve built so far (Pueblo-style cliffside village on the Noob River), just wondering if I turned purge on if I’d be inviting its destruction. Want to build more bases, want to try a purge, but can’t be everywhere at once.

Your Number 1 choice doesn't have any Iron within a reasonable distance. Even in The Passage there isn't anything. You literally have to travel for a considerable amount of time to mine Iron. In turn you can not carry a large amount of it because it's so far from Iron without risk of "Death."

Can you use someone elses map room? If you can then yeah maybe. but at the same time, it makes you a very easy target for raiding. Go home, load up, teleport to the guys base you want to raid, and bam. Chicken Dinner. use his map room to teleport close to your own base drop off everything you stole and teleport right back to it to finish stealing all of his stuff.

Other than that good video, I was roaming last night and found a tree that I started building my base in. in fact, i'm using 3 trees!

I don't play ARK official because people pillar the hell out of the map so you can't build. Is that a thing in Conan?

NPC's are never an issue since you build wheel houses where you go farm NPC's.

Personally you mention some important things but I believe you overthink base locations. There's only one resource to prioritize, IRON. The best build spots anywhere on the map are close to iron. After that don't be to far away from brim stone deposits. Third you might want to think about being close to mobs that can be harvested for thick leather. Basically you don't need a base that has a "Pretty" view.

Since I have built in other parts I'm doing a jungle build on a new server. IS it me or does my house seem to leak every time it rains. I mean the floors are always wet...lol

i didn't think you could use the obelisks to teleport, only go to them from a map room. so i don't see the advantage of building right next to one?
