[Dear Evan Hansen] You Will Be Found (Animatic)

My previous DEH animatic was met with such great response that it got me the energy to actually get this done! There were times I felt like my drawing skills went out the window, but I did put a lot more effort into this one. Over all, I'm pretty happy with it.

This is my favorite song on the soundtrack and means a lot to me, so I really wanted to make this animatic. Hope you all enjoy it!♥

I loved the focus on Jared when Evan said "like you could fall and nobody would hear" because it was like he just realized what really happened to Evan's arm.

I just noticed something while watching this for probably the millionth time -

In "Requiem", Zoe angrily sings that "No one lights a candle to remember."

But in this animatic, she holds a lit candle up to her face and starts sobbing as she imagines Connor's ghost in front of her.

I actually feel bad for Connor cause imagine if he could see everything that’s happening he would see his parents getting a someone who actually listens to them and acts as a good son he would see his sister getting a boyfriend that’s love her he would see how everyone is happy and better without him he would see how in reality he didn’t matter cause the Connor everyone thinks and remembers with love is not the real Connor is the Connor that Evan created the real Connor got forgotten and replace by an ilusión of himself created by someone else

@ 3:49, a bunch of people raise their hand. I find this specific moment inspiring for one reason. Each hand is different. There is the one with the bracelet, the one with the tattoo, the one on a t-shirt, the one in a sweatshirt and what caught my eye right away, the arm with scars. This is SO important because no matter who you are and what you are facing there is always someone who wants to love you if you reach out your hand. Like if you found this moment as inspiring as I did

Every day I feel like I’m not making a difference. Like I’m just another selfish, lazy teenager. And every time I feel this way, I don’t let myself tell anyone. Not my parents, my friends or my teachers. I tell myself that their problems are worse and I don’t what them to hold my problems on their shoulders. They don’t need that. They need a shoulder to cry on. They need someone to talk to. They don’t need to hear about my problems.

When I heard this song for the first time, and even now, I cry. Because I want to be found, I want to be heard.



We need more people to hear this song.

‘You Will be Found’ speaks to me differently than it will to others.



Everyone needs a shoulder to cry on.

Everyone needs to be heard.

Everyone needs to be picked up and dusted off because I know things can be shitty but goddamnit it will get better.

even if Evan didnt actually know Connor, and they weren't friends, the things he did in remeberance of him were great, even if they were out of selfishness

Zoe’s part gives me chills every time. Could you imagine not only the pain of Zoe realizing that she ignored someone who she truly loved the whole time, and didn’t get to show him anymore, but also Connor watching powerlessly as the tragedy of the song “If I Could Tell Her” kicks in? The face Connor makes in this animatic kills me.

I actually got to see the musical on Broadway and the part that made me cry the most, was the moment in You'll be found, when Conners dad breaks down. He hold himself up over the whole show but at that moment he just falls down and cries and that's okay.

Got to be honest, the first time I heard this song I thought, "This is some corny crap right here why does everyone like it so much?" But then I watched this animatic and tried to really listen to the words, the melody, and the message, and I have to tell you, I finally appreciate the song.
