These cops knew that a shooter with an AR-15 was going to make hamburger out of any one that he shot. They knew that their own body armor was only going to slow down the bullets from the AR-15, not stop them. They knew that, for 376 cops, finally only one shield had been delivered that was good enough to stand up to an assault by an AR-15. The bottom line was that ALL levels of government had set these cops up on a suicide mission. The fact that they lived and the shooter did not is more of a function of the shooter's desire for a "suicide by cop". Thanks for more facts. If fully trained cops (Federal, State, and local) are incapable of protecting themselves or others against this type of gun, Congress has No business authorizing it's use by civilians, particularly civilians without specialized training. Vote against Legislators who are unwilling to provide the simple protections that have worked elsewhere.

Imagine believing an archaic 2nd amendment is so sacrosanct that even the murders of children isn't enough to think: maybe this amendment needs to be amended in some way.

Abbot wanted his Border Patrol at the scene before anyone made a move to do their job. Why aren't people looking at who ordered the standown order? Why is Abbot not being questioned about his role in the murder of the children and their teachers?

All of us are here in life for a reason. These officers are here to sacrifice their safety for the safety of these children. It was their moment to make a difference, to be hero’s, and they failed. Let us hope that the cowardice these offices displayed, is not adopted by the children as the way for them to lead their lives.

The mother who fought her way into the school. She went to her first son's class, and got the teacher and the classmates out of the building. She went to her second son's class and got him and his friend out. She passed cops in the halls doing nothing. She wasn't harmed. She saved lives. Now she is being harassed by the cops, telling her to stop telling her story or else.
