The Ford GT is probably the closest thing to a homologation special. The Ford GT that won Lemans has a drivetrain from a production vehicle.

Subaru supposedly has the plastic fender flares bc it’s rAlLy car which it is but no one uses it for that purpose. Anyways it’s so that rocks and chips or whatever hit the plastic and don’t chip away paint while they’re rallying. Probably is cheaper that way too
