When I was in college way back in the 80s, a guy came to our small school and put on a skills demonstration where he drifted from elbow to elbow, catching and shooting jump shots. He made forty in a row, taking another shot every 3 to 4 seconds. At the end, the MC said, "if you can't shoot the J, you can't play." When I saw Zion in clips and then at Duke, I saw this uber athlete without the skills to be a generational player. His stroke from distance and the FT line was hard to watch. Not MKG hard, but still hard. After his injury with the shoe, I saw him as a potential bust because he was injury prone. Add to that he had Jamarcus Russel's attitude toward the game. He didn't love it. He may not be the bust I envisioned, but as the #1 overall pick, he is certainly a major disappointment and has set the Pelicans back a decade.
