The houses are built • SDE 21/22 event about to start

Our teams are about to finalize their houses! After three weeks of exhausting, interesting, creative and teaching hours of work, last steps are taken to be able to present the houses to our jury members and the public.

At the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22, 18 university teams from eleven countries develop innovative ideas for sustainable, energy-efficient and socially responsible architecture. Who are the teams? What will their building look like? And who will come up with the most convincing concept for future urban living?

In June 2022 the Solar Decathlon will take place in Germany. It is the international university competition for urban building and living, which has been inspiring millions of viewers worldwide with attractive buildings and a top-class event since 2002.

To celebrate its twentieth anniversary, the Solar Decathlon Europe 21/22 in Wuppertal is dedicated to the transformation of urban space. If in the future, we want to have sustainable, climate-friendly and social cities that are worth living in, we need to lay the groundwork today! The SDE 21/22 is funded by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
