Hello DasGeek, I really enjoyed this video bro. To see how happy and excited you are about Manjaro is great ! This is what more people need to see IMHO.

I switched from Ubuntu to Manjaro, and it is wonderful. I agree with you. I am not an advanced user of Linux, but each time there is a problem, I usually navigate through the forums until I find my way out of it, learning a little bit each time. I think it is good that Manjaro comes with the option of having the NVIDIA drivers. I plan on using Manjaro to take advantage of the GPU in running Deep Learning models with Python (Theano takes advantage of the GPUs for parallel processing). I think the advice given by Michal Dybczak about not using the GUI but the terminal to manage updates is very wise. Most of my problems were caused by using the GUI instead of the terminal for updates/upgrades. Thanks for this video. It gave me further awareness of the awesomeness of the distro I have. :)

Manjaro KDE it the best Linux desktop for me! For the past yearsI tried alot of Linux distributions like ubuntu, opensuse, elementary OS, Mint, fedora, and kali, nothing comes close to Manjaro.

I'm just new too in manjaro, how do you make backups (system/home)?
BTW is my first Linux that I really love, all works not like with others distribution.
Soon I can say finally bye bye to Windows ;-)

Whoa, you have a scarlett! Maybe you can help me. I'm new to manjaro and linux (ex-osx guy) and I'm not sure what audio settings to use in OBS. Sometimes ALSA gives me a signal, sometimes it doesn't... worth setting up JACK or Pulse (not terribly familiar with either, but wondering how your scarlett is set up with OBS.

And yes, i was shocked at how it worked out of the box on Manjaro when in Windows (my first time using windows in 19 years) I had to install drivers, and then mess with sleep and usb setting to make sure it maintained connection.

FYI, you can disable the system error reporting in ubuntu by using "sudo systemctl disable apport.service"

Currently the Budgie spin of Manjaro is my distro of choice. I've pretty much always used Manjaro XFCE since the 0.8 days, and then used the community MATE version for a couple of weeks, and finally settled on the Budgie version. I did use Solus for a while to see if I'd like it better than just using the Budgie spin of Manjaro, but I ended up coming back after a couple of weeks due to missing the AUR.

Pretty smooth, although I did have to edit the steam.desktop file to disable DRI3 in order to get Steam working. Also, I had to install GNOME Calendar, since trying to display the calendar from the panel would load Gedit instead. Other than that, I've encountered zero issues. These are likely only problems in the Budgie spin, however.

I may circle back to the flagship XFCE version again at some point in the future, but am really liking Budgie right now.

Awesome Video!. I use Antergos, but all Arch Linux Based are great distros!. Krunner, kde connect, kdenlive, okular on plasma and a lot of kde apps are awesome too.

I agree man. All my machines are moved over to Manjaro and do all my gaming/recording/editing with it as well.

I got a secondary ASUS USB Monitor which requires the display link driver. You said that Monjero by default installs Nvidia drivers, but if the display link driver does is not supported with it. Is there a work around to add my secondary USB monitor while still keeping nvidia driver?

Is the blue-tooth connectivity as painful as Ubuntu?

dude Manjaro is bomb, I'm close to swapping from mint 18 to it, one question I have for your steam game management, do you store them on the same drive or a separate drive and why? I ask because in the past I always had issues with them being on a separate drive in Ubuntu. keep up the videos. they rock!

Hey Ryan,

Colin PCTLC has been he!ping me out with getting manjaro KDE installed alongside my kde neon install and it's gone well so he said to ask you why some hardware issues I'm having as youre the hardware guy! Btw I love Destination Linux it's a great show! I'm fairly new to Linux and still using my wacom intuos 4 tablet and mouse that comes with it. The drivers were installed with Ubuntu but not manjaro. Also the side buttons and mouse scroll don't work in alot of apps or dolphin which is a pain....do you know a way to get them working? The scroll works in Firefox though which is odd but no side buttons...
I'm on a budget at the moment but know at some point I'll need to get a new mouse and keyboard so Are there any brands that work better with linux? Any you'd recommend? I'm not a gamer and not really keen on mechanical keyboards. Cheers!

I love manjaro, especially KDE edition, and there is no better distro for me :). After 1, 5 year of using it, there are some small issues that were easy to fix. You won't have many problems yourself as you proven to be resourceful, otherwise, you wouldn't stick to linux ;).
There is a new update today and it's recommended to launch it from a terminal. Octopi has a nice option to use a terminal for an update so that's great. Often gui can't handle specifics of given update so the terminal is the best way.
As to Steam, , it's troublesome on Arch. It works great and then suddenly it stops and you must add some options in command to make it work... Also, version conflicts when using certain AUR packages are frequent.
Manjaro is not flawless but still, it's so awesome, so full of potential and yet relatively easy for an intermediate user and possible for a newbie. There are also so many DEs to try, that you can DE hop without leaving the best implementation of linux :D.

I have the same feelings as you. I started with ubuntu, then mint (stick with it for few months) but then I found Manjaro and my hopping days are over. I was also trying Open Suse and other distros but I found out that I dislike rpm systems.Debian stable is horrible too, debian unstable seems to be the best option of it (AntX gives that option). Still, Manjaro with its arch base, manjaro tools, mhwd and overall maturity is the best!

Your video is the reason i'm switching from the legal malware (Windows 10) to Linux... been researching distros for a couple of weeks, and been disregarding arch based distros just for the fact that some commercial apps and games (Civilization V) are only available for rpm and deb based systems as far as I know, but screw that... i'm going in for manjaro... 3 or 4 apps and games are not worth staying one more day with this bloody, resource hogging, malware, pos of a system called windows 10... Disk IO 100% by some mysterious windows service after restart for a solid 15 minutes... really microsoft? but hey, it's a free OS, right? it's not like they're getting paid from somewhere else.... :)

Thanks for the video... downloading manjaro kde NOW... enough!

Hey. I just installed manjaro kde. I love it but I have one problem. Trying to get doom 2016 to run, but it freezes on loading screen. It works perfectly in ibuntu and fedora.
