I grew up almost exactly 1 hr outside Gainesville Florida and was 10 yrs old at the time story #1 took place. I remember like it was yesterday...Daniel Rowling took those innocent kids' lives and EVENTUALLY the state of Florida took his in the name of justice. However I would REALLY like to know where the storyteller lived like the name of the town because we had phones. Landlines but still phones. It was 1990 not 1790. IDK maybe she was just UBER poor which wasn't uncommon for the area at the time, but even the farmers and river rats (people such as myself and my family that gathered at the local river instead of fighting with the tourists for a small spot at the beaches) had phones or neighborhoods with phones. No child should ever be put in charge of caring for someone with Alzheimer's or dementia so at that, I say shame on her parents ESPECIALLY given the absolute panic that consumed Gainesville and ALL the surrounding towns so the FBI and GPD played footsie with a guy that WAS NOT the ripper, while the REAL sicko was quite literally living in some trees right under the cop's noses. Smh I am very curious as to which town this woman was from. Hell I still live an hour outside Gainesville, just in the opposite direction from where I grew up. That was the case that changed our little world forever. No more unlocked doors, no more walking around at night (alone or not), no more blissful ignorance, it could cost us our lives from that point forward. I think all American towns have this very same story. One day you wake up and all of a sudden your woods in your own back yard become a waking nightmare, even walking the approximate ONE mile to our library after school I caught my parents following about 2 blocks behind me. Oh yeah, life had DEFINITELY changed over night. Rot in hell Deviant Danny!
