Ask Juan: How do you REMOVE an OtterBox Defender Case for iPad, Nexus, or Lumia?

A couple months ago I did a three part series on my favorite line of rugged cases, the Defender from OtterBox. Even though I showed in detail every feature of the case, and how to install one, I missed one crucial aspect in all three reviews. How do you take the darn thing off? Good thing you Youtube viewers call me out on stuff...

After messing with the case for 4 hours I got it off with a plastic card and a finger.

Still the best for iPad 3 removal. Remember you have to start on the same corner as Juan & that is the end with the power-in & speaker sections. Choose the speaker corner. Then leverage from the edge which has the volume buttons. slide two credit cards towards eachother, towards the speaker corner & it will pop along the way. Don't use a knife dummy. Plastic doesn't bleed. You do ;-0)

Side tabs, easy. Corner tabs? I cannot figure out which part stays with the back and what is part of the front... and even which way the tab is supposed to be praised. Sorry. Bad eyes.

Sweet Jesus.... after reviewing almost 20 videos regarding the particular case in question, yours was the first that REALLY helped explained the removal of the OtterBox case. BTW, mine is a Kindle Fire case and it was removed exactly as your described! UGH!!!!

My clips for the ipad wont budge someone please help theres dust underneath the screen and i cant get it out i feel like destroying my ipad

I still can't take the box off of the ipad.. I couldn't open it from the bottom like you.. Only the sides. Ugh..

I had great success without damaging any clips gently using two of the points of a claw type staple remover. Worked like magic.
