Android auto looks soooo nice. On the other side, I wish apple would put more work into carplay as it just looks rushed. It reminds me of a big ipod, with no real consideration paid towards ease of use or elegance.

I'm sure CarPlay is quite functional but from a pure design perspective it looks like CarPlays developers just quickly put some things together with no consideration for aesthetics or UI.

Carplay looks better. Everything is nice and big and simple. You have to remember we are in a car here and can't be worried about complex menu or navigation. I'm a long time Android fan/user but it looks like Apple got this right

Carplay is by far the better option to use while driving, going through multiple menus in Android Auto is not very safe while driving, .

Will Android Auto be available on older models with a dashboard monitor, or will we be required to purchase a 2015 model like the car in this demo?

Still can't find the answer to this question : You have to choose between the two systems or are they both integrated? Not every family has every one equiped with I Phones.

Would I be able to swap my infotainment system completely? I want Android Auto but the 5" screen in the SE Tucson doesn't have it. I'd need the Limited edition to do it. Seems silly when all I want is a better dash system.

So are these two head units the same and shows the menu in either Apple car play or the android auto based in what phone you plug into it? Or are they completely different head units specific to the type of phone you are using?

Car play wouldve been awesome if it had the Yosemite look.  For example the phone background blurred out and the icons on top (on the car radio)

Android Auto looks really nice, and Carplay isn't too bad either. I really wish these systems would include all three systems though, stock, Android Auto and Carplay, rather than making me buy a new car in the event I wanted to switch to iOS or switch to Android. Still, this is a pretty damn big leap forward.
