Why Don't Ice Cream Sandwiches Melt?

John Matarese looks into one mom's question about her kids' ice cream.

We set out a Walmart Great Value sandwich, a Klondike Bar sandwich, and a cup of Haagen Dazs in the hot sun for 30 minutes:

The Haagen Dazs melted quickly into a puddle.

The Klondike sandwich melted to a fair extent.

The Walmart sandwich, though it melted a bit, remained the most solid in appearance, and still looked like a sandwich.

Yes,  you save money when you buy 12 ice cream bars for three dollars instead of one Haagen Dasz bar. But, it will sure cost you a lot more years later when you have cancer or diabetes.

The News anchor guy was paid for the line/lie he threw in at the end: "For the same price, you get a dozen ice-cream sandwiches from Walmart, and again, there is NOTHING unhealthy about their sandwiches. LOL!  You would have to be a fool to shop Walmart for ice-cream sandwiches this day forward.

I will say this. Make your own ice cream. Gosh it taste 1000 times better.

Buying local raw organic products is best.  If anything you should makes your own ice cream.   It is extremely easy to do.

Actually also if ice cream is very hot it can "cook" or if it's just left out. I remember dropping a drop of ice cream on a table inside and the day after it was like a foam. The brand was blue bells.

Don't decide if food is healthy or not on how well it melts... Read the ingredients list, that's all you need to do. (My home-made ice cream cake doesn't melt well either because of the amount of egg in it.. )

I dont believe this, ive tried it. yes-its true that the Walmart ice cream sandwiches melts slower than others, but it still does melt. There is no way this lady left one out for 12 hours  without it melting.

It was left it out all night and no animals or bugs would touch that free "food" !!

Great value icecream sandwiches make me vomit about 10 minutes after eating them so my body is rejecting something in them. Bluebunny strawberry icecream gives me hives and Pillsbury cinnamon rolls give me an allergic reaction in my throat so yeah they do put crap in them that we don't need.
