Why most bike reviews suck.

That’s because reviews are done by journalists wanting to keep a positive relationship with the manufacturers and builders. The flow of goods comes to those who speak positivity. Truth is a rare virtue. It takes courage to be truthful. Peace

I certainly have one complaint about my gen 2 speed concept and that is the quality of the bolts used. I rounded out the saddle clamp bolt on first install and I wasn’t even up to torque spec yet. The solution I could sped $45 on a saddle clamp hardware kit. I made my own. I’ve replaced almost all of them on the bike with good ones. I got mine after they changed the kind of steel because cockpit bolts were shearing while riding, but before they sized up the cockpit bolts from m5 to m6. That’s my build quality review.

The quality across the board is pretty shocking in this industry, like you say. Paying top dollar for a bike expecting the best quality is the definition of being a mug.

Perhaps you are not following the reviews being done by some of the Australian YouTubers who are having frames scanned by carbon specialists to assess potential defects during the manufacturing process.
