I've had the mod "don't wash dishes where you angry poop" for AGES. I'm very glad to see it's just a base game feature now and that it seems to actually work!

Happy about the no-shoes-inside update... I'm from Norway and NO ONE wears shoes inside.. It's not only a Japanese thing :D

Thank god they fixed the sink issue!! Now, they need to make it that you can assign a chair to eat in at meals, so my sims stop sitting in the living room or on a bed!

the fact that taking off your shoes when you enter the house is big news for the sims community really shows how deprived we are of free content 😭. istg 90% of the packs should be base game

the "no shoes indoors" being tied to the japan pack always confused me because I do not know a single european who wears shoes indoors, and I know a lot of people

They should definitely improve the switch households function, like it seems like a nice concept but they should expand it to make gameplay easier.

I think the kid not taking their shoes off is a feature. Sometimes Sims keep their shoes on and then get a moodlet for not following the rules. (at least that's how it worked previously with Snowy Escape)
On on hand I'm happy for the simmers bc now everyone can have their sims take their shoes off. On the other hand it's so annoying that things that were sold als features in packs (like the whirlpool or the laptop) then later become basegame features. I know it's just small things but there's not much to packs anyway, like this they feel even emptier. The solution would be to implement more features, even rabbitholes would be fine (then the hoods would feel a lil less abandoned and empty). But I know it won't happen... So I'll jsut stick to being happy for everyone.

I remember playing the Sims 2 when I was 10 years old and my grandma came over and watched my sim use the toilet and then leave the bathroom without autonomously washing their hands and my grandma told my mom that the Sims was too inappropriate and I shouldn't be allowed to play it

I'm loving the shoes off sign. I never really thought about it in the sims because its not real but in real life I always take off my shoes before going anywhere other than my hallway. So yeah now that I'm aware of it I was glad to have it in my game :) I mean more than just the Japanese do it. I'm in Ireland!

I think the switching households actually has some use. If you are playing with multiple families in the world that visit each other, you can switch controls easier

In my experience the shoes off sign in snowy escape was pretty broken and my sims absolutely took their shoes off to go outside in the snow, so they’ve literally just copy/pasted a barely functional feature. Still, it’s nice, I’m thrilled about the sinks, mad it took this long.

Coming from a culture that takes shoes off indoors, it's always so curious to see how others react to this, like "did you know that everyone takes their shoes off inside like wow". This needs to be more normalized I think.

The switching control feature was literally easier in The Sims 2. There was a toggle in settings called ‘Clickable Neighbours’. If it was on, you could click on your neighbour and a pop-up would appear saying ‘Do you want to switch to this household? Yes/No’ and if you clicked Yes it was literally one loading screen.

Sometimes sims can be “rebellious” and they decide not to take their shoes off. They usually get a mood buff from it. Maybe that’s what that kid was doing.

I just can't believe it how hard can it be to detect if there's any kitchen appliances or any plumbing like showers or toilets located in the same room and not have players manually set the sink type...

Here's something I found amusing, The Sims 2 launched with the ability to switch to a neighbour's household just by clicking on it. Meanwhile, The Sims 4 9 years into its life got a more cumbersome implementation of that feature.

I’m just glad (and kinda surprised) that they let us choose what can be done at each sink. If one doesn’t designate, I hope sinks will still be okay for any sink activities: I tend to play a lot of families and it’s a huge timesaver for the parents to be able to wash baby bottles and toddler dishes in the upstairs bathroom! 😅

I regret updating. I literally play with 0 mods, but since I've done this update, my Sims are taking like 5 secs to do an action or talk to someone. Or they freeze a little while before doing an action and the same with townies they stand here doing nothing for a while.😡
