In this tutorial I demonstrate how to work three different stitches to create a foundation to work from in your crochet. At the end is a bonus technique I use when working cuffs for a project.

Time Stamps:
single crochet (UK dc): 2:28
half double crochet ((UK htr): 5:10
double crochet (UK tr): 6:47
cuff ribbing: 10:00
Thank you so much for watching! x

Oh my gosh I could hug you! You are the first person that I’ve ever heard explain it as we are simply adding an extra stitch and then finishing the stitch as we would normally.
The proverbial lightbulb just turned on and I am so happy!! I FINALLY get it!!
Thank you so much!!! I can’t wait to watch more of your tutorials!!

Thanks for that tutorial you made it a lot clearer, I could definitely give it a go now. When I made a granny stripe blanket the top cast off was wider than my starting chain - I had obviously done the start too tight, so this might work better do you 😊

Thanks for this fab technique. My foundation chains are so loose, (occasionally too tight) as I can never get my tension right ✅🙃.

Thank you :) Don't you usually use UK terminology though?
