Looking back on 2023, I think some of these features were little surprises to me, but in aggregate have made using Home Assistant for my new office such a smoother experience than it was originally setting up my house a couple years ago.

I'm excited for 2024... and hoping it could be focused again on UI somewhat, like making dashboard management simpler.

I started using Home Assistant in October when I moved into a new place. Watching this video taught me that almost everything I use in HA was added this year, including multi-instance support!

2023 was incredible. I was looking for the template macro for two weeks before it shipped; I had asked for the NAS integration the previous year; and i have several ESH P-1s in the drawer waiting to be added to my system. Its like they are pandering to me! Thanks for all the info Lewis!

Perfect! because this is YOUR priority order and each of us has probably our own one ;-). I like your top 2 for sure - truth be told the number 1 is like: "setup and forget" that is why probably nobody bothers to mention anymore.
I wish next year top 1: "GUI set up with the mouse 100%" - maybe one day (or one year).

Just learned about home assistant and it took me a while to understand the flow of everything. Right now I have no idea how to get all of my smart speakers to just use home assistant. Or if I can flash them with home assistant lol

Hey Lewis, I'd agree with a number of those, as you know i to don't do much with voice control.. it's interesting.. but just not my thing.. although i do admire how far paulus and the team have come in a relatively short time. for me i think i've spent more time working on my dashboards this year so i've appreciated the work that's been put into those the most with bubble cards being the most recent addition. Hey Lewis. I have just begun running my home assistant on a virtual machine but have just purchased a dedicated raspberry pi for running home assistant. I know that it is better to run on a virtual machine, but my computer does not allow it to run for long and I have to shut it off every night. Can I transfer my home assistant data from the virtual machine to the raspberry pi? If so, can you possibly make a video on how to transfer it and get it running on a pi or explain it to me? Thanks!
