NEPAL 🇳🇵 - Shiva The Hindu God - Place of Truth and other treasures of Kathmandu Durbar Square 🇳🇵
Показать описание
Kathmandu Durbar Square is one of three Durbar (royal palace) Squares in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
One of the many interesting gems in the square is the Kaal Bhairav (the most fiercest manifestation of Hindu God Shiva) statue that also served as the supreme court of Nepal. According to the legend if one lied before the statue the suspect would die. Similarly, it is also believed Kaal Bhairav exhibits signs of a life coming to an end prior to a person’s death. For instance, it is said if he casts his shadow on someone .... the death will strike within a year!!!
But I was lucky, no shadow on me, so I should be here next year posting on YouTube. Unless, of course, Elon Musk buys YouTube and permanently suspends my account. 🤣🤣🤣
Several buildings in the square collapsed due to a major earthquake on 25 April 2015. Durbar Square was surrounded with spectacular architecture and vividly showcases the skills of the Newar artists and craftsmen over several centuries.
Kathmandu's Durbar Square is the site of the Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex, which was the royal Nepalese residence until the 19th century and where important ceremonies, such as the coronation of the Nepalese monarchs, took place: the coronation of King Birendra Bir Bikram Shah in 1975 and King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah in 2001.
And there are many many more things to see in the square. You can easily spend the whole day and more there without being bored.
