NASA’s experimental X-59 Quiet SuperSonic Technology aircraft is almost ready for its first test flights later this year. Lockheed Martin’s latest photos show NASA’s X-59 as it sits on the flight line, the space between the hangar and the runway at Lockheed Martin Skunk Works in California.

Oh god yes! I haven’t seen anything cool in aviation since the F22. What an amazing looking aircraft. I hope I live long enough to board a super sonic airliner.

Concorde 2 is awesome I can't wait to fly on one .

A Concord that could actually fly over land supersonic and not break peoples windows would be cool. Concord could only fly over the ocean like that really limited that plane

Looks like paper planes I made as an adult.

I ask myself, why is it so important to fly faster and faster. I just don’t understand why going from L.A. to London in 3 hrs. is so important.

whoa this is rad when i'm out with the horses it be cool to see how they react, i count the planes in the sky because they fly so low.

I feel like they designed this in the 80's and just kept the same design

I cannot remember when NASA or a def-con would announce ahead of time an X project publicly before it’s maiden flight! And I don’t understand why it took almost 70 years to develop a quieter supersonic aircraft.

I wish that Nasa and Skunk Works able to figure out Tik Tak anti physics system(anti gravity, anti inertia, Space Air Water).

I don't like the cock pit if I was a pilot I would like to visually see where I'm going I wouldn't want to depend on a monitor all the time..

Across the USA? 2 hours to be delayed by TSA, then 30 minutes for a flight, then an hour to escape the airport?

Here's a concept: Reduce the security to 10 minutes, max, and have baggaged ready in five minutes. How's THAT for supersonic?

Wait they haven’t done a thing yet. This is a Lockheed project that they got NASA to pay for. And that project was bought from a other little company that I can’t remember right now as it was a long time ago. And this is just 1970’s design that is just now coming to life. MAYBE.

I remain unimpressed...

... when they can reduce sonic boom at mach-20, now we can land space vehicles without really bad sonic booms over land.

This why SpaceX lands its boosters in oceans to a ship.
