The aroma of books is such a fascinating thing. Often all it takes is one good whiff inside a previously read book for feelings and memories to come flooding back, it’s so powerful like this! And then often that ‘new book smell’ of a brand new book is so interesting and addictive for some reason. No wonder for Paul it is such a rewarding pastime to smell the books on your bookshelves with his heightened senses - he is a powerful and passionate nose detective and smell-memory keeper! ❤

This isn’t a blind thing. This is a “I love to read and books make me happy” thing 😂😂
I could sniff books all day 😂

Getting high on book mold, not even joking! Books grow a very particular type of mold that releases the “book smell” that we love, and we actually get a mild high off of it. So you can literally get high off of reading!

“What’s the name of this one?”
“Soak your nuts”
“Got it” *stuffs face back into book*
Absolutely perfect part, AND HIS EYES LIKE “mm yes, the scent of Soak your Nuts”- LMAO, hella funny

As a sighted person I LOVE the smell of books, especially Roald Dahl books, he uses a special yellow paper and it smells SO GOOD

I'm fortunate enough to be fully sighted, but I absolutely do this too! Books, REAL books, are a complete sensory experience! The rustle and rasp of the pages, the rich, musty aroma of aging paper, especially in books that are more than thirty years old... Magnificent!

I love the smell of a bookstore so I get it.

I'm with you there. When I started school, my 5-year-old self couldn't walk past a book shop on my way home from school. I'm still transported back by the aromas coming from a book shop. Better than any bakery

That comment is so poignant, ‘I can’t read them any more, but I like to smell them’. We take so much for granted, until it’s gone and yet you still manage to find an endless stream of humour to share with your equally wonderful husband.
Sending a bucket load of best wishes from the U.K. 💕💕💕

"I can't read them anymore, so I smell them" actually broke my heart. Idk what I'd do going from being able to see, to being blind. Very awesome spirit, cause I don't think I'd handle it as amazingly

The amount of positive attitude this person even after knowing he is losing his eyesight is so motivating for others to appreciate what we have . Such a great and lovely spirit 😊😊😊😊

I am a highly sensitive person so I love the texture and smell of certain things. Mainly I can identify my Aussie’s by the smell when they walk in the room and by the feel of their fur if I’m trying to figure out who’s who at the end of my bed at night. I’ve had my older aussie since college and she’s been with me through those rough times and her smell is super calming and comforting to me more than almost anything else. I smell my books as well and they all smell unique. I collect Tolkien books, the older the better and I love the way they smell. 😂
