I was bullied for 11 years, most of it was verbal, but for a year I was also physically bullied. I'm only 16 now. My life was plagued with self hatred and self deprecation and to this day I only ever blame myself for not being good enough, never them for their hurtful spiteful actions. But at least I am still here. I guess that's something..

Something that helped me was to confront them. One to one, a bully needs an audience. My bully was a teacher, i wrote down what i wanted to say then spoke to her right outside the staff room. I also reported her. It worked! My friends had to carry me to class because the minute she left my legs just stopped working and i had a panic attack. Buti did it and you can too!

I don't think you should delete bullying messages if you plan to report them. You should screenshot them and print them out for evidence. But if you dont plan to report them, then delete them.

Get revenge, don't let people tell you it doesn't work, IT DOES. But you have to do it right, you have to DESTROY them beyond all recognition, so they are incapable of functioning or paralyzed with fear. Also dismiss any notion of forgiveness, you will hear that a lot, it is a weakness disguised as a virtue.

I have been bullied since I was in kindergarten. I was even bullied in college—indeed, during the time I was pursuing my first and second bachelor's degree. (In fact, the bullying during my first bachelor's degree was so terrible, I had to pursue a second one.) I have been bullied by students, teachers/professors, staff, and coworkers. Regrettably, it has hardened me as a person and I have been mean to people as a result (though not always). I have essentially become my enemy, if you will. I have also dealt with many toxic relationships which did not allow me to pore out my experiences to people.

In most workplaces you cannot do it anonymously. The managers or HR will try to resolve the situation as "quietly" as possible and to safe guard their employees privacy. But for the workplace to take action against the bullying or sexual harassment, the person being bullied still has to write a written statement.

I've been going through this within my own workplace for the past two weeks.

Part 2/2
Now I'm in high school I really didn't go to the school anymore to take any class. I didn't want to see them anymore and deal with them making fun of my lisp and other things. A few years after what would have been my graduating class one of them actually apologized to me for what they did.
The biggest tip I can gave you is to forgive them for what they did or are still doing to you. So you don't hold on to the pain / anger. let it go I know it's very hard but that what's help me.

perfect timing with this topic! my sister bullied me my whole life - up until about 5 years ago when we stopped speaking. this morning, she sent me a bullying message on facebook. i've already vented and talked it over with some friends. next step = delete!

As a teacher...PLEASE tell us. We need to know. Among other reasons, I don't want to unknowingly sit you next to or pair you up with someone who's mean to you! I'm sorry that some of you have had bad experiences with telling teachers...Most of us really do want to help!

The way I dealt with verbal bullying was by just saying, "Okay!" and leaving it at that. They would just get tired of harassing me and left me alone. Of course it's probably one of the least effective and dumbest ways; but hell, it worked for me! I guess overall, just do your best to ignore their opinions and don't let it get to you. You don't need everyone you encounter to accept/approve of you to enjoy your life.

Thanks for talking about bullying. I was bullied for 5 years and what helped me was opening up and letting myself cry instead of self

I think that sometimes it can seem stupid to report someone bullying you but if they are hurting you it is bullying!!

I was bullied relentlessly throughout grade school by classmates; I've recently realized that it is the root of my ED and anxiety. Working through it has sucked (nightmares, anxiety, insomnia) but is finally starting to help me make progress toward recovery. Since it was long ago, writing "letters" (I don't send them) to the people involved has been helpful. I haven't been able to write one to the bully yet; it was too upsetting when I tried, but hopefully I'll get there and find some closure.

I’m glad you’ve made this helpful video because there are people who have no respect.

Also, since me getting management involved regarding the sexual harassment I was receiving within the workplace originally produced more anxiety. However, it has died down. The co-worker harassing me as stopped. Management is still waiting to hear from corporate about the "appropriate action" for management to take regarding the situation.

Since telling manager what was happening overall as made my work situation better.

Thank you so much for doing a video on bullying! I was actually bullied by my teachers in middle school and that's part of what triggered my depression and ED so while it's long over and there's not much I can do about it now I'm so glad to hear you talking about it. If you decide to do another video on bullying can it talk more about what to do about the emotional effects and the lingering difficulties from the bullying? Your videos always help me so much, thanks for everything:)
