The problem is that College football is already essentially a developmental league for the nfl

I like how transparent the XFL is. You get to hear the refs going over plays.

Battlehawks having 40k fans every game 🗿

I like how he mentions the USFL opening TV rating, and leaves out the conventional fact it was simulcast over two national TV networks, and the 3 mil is the combined viewership of both channels, not a 1 channel TV rating

Surprised he doesn’t talk about how battlehawks just opened up more seats because they sold out and those got sold out

The biggest problem is that these leagues aren't staying in business long enough to develope a fan base. Why invest in a team that's going to go away in a season or two. And the fact they keep failing makes you less likely to invest in another. If your going to do a football league outside of the nfl your going to have to be able to endure the losses you'd take early om while establishing yourself with the fanbase.

For me, the XFL and USFL are in direct competition with each other rather than against the NFL.

Football in Spring is a welcoming site and the two leagues act as a "pipeline" anyways. The ratings are down for the other sports as well but XFL is going to be fine.

They need to stream the games for free and let ad revenue pay for it.

I think they need to advertise more. Didn't even know it was going on until game highlights were recommended on my feed

Yeah I’ve been saying this. Make minor league NFL. Each team has a minor team somewhere in a somewhat nearby but smaller town. Keep the roster smaller, maybe play on a smaller field like arena so you can play in smaller facilities with fewer players (less talent available), like a 7 on 7, 10 minute quarters, air the games on Tuesday and Wednesday nights (2hr games). When players need to be called up to the NFL they can and they’ll be familiar with the team and to an extent the system as they will be running a somewhat similar offense and defense. Then the NFL can also use it as a prototyping system for developing new rule and officiating changes, new technologies to help the game, etc. This is how you iterate and improve while also getting more eyes in more markets around the country on the game. I think it could really be something spectacular.

Xfl can be good because after each nfl draft there is alot of players needing a team I suggest that xfl teams should be able to draft from that pool.

The USFL survived to a second season. Football is more popular than ever and there are more players than ever trying to play after college. You never know

I always thought it would be a good idea that the NFL would have another 53 man rosters for the spring. So there would be 32 teams in the spring with 1700 new players. 18 game season.

I have to strongly disagree with this, financially the XFL is spending significantly less then prior attempts, including their generally successful 2020 campaign. Declining attendance is a common theme throughout ever single major pro sport, so the XFL isn’t “failing” for that reason. TV viewership is also down in all pro sports as well, since the 2020 pandemic, a lot of people dropped cable TV for streaming services for convince and cost. Anything negative I have said about the XFL is a common theme in all pro sports and not exclusive to them. They differ from these leagues by saving significant money by having these teams all based in one city (Arlington, TX), despite representing and playing in different regions. They share planes and use other means to cut costs, so the decreased viewership doesn’t negatively impact them. The AAFL went out of business for fraud, and their only remaining competitor is the USFL. The XFL does currently serve as a “G-League” while also simultaneously serving as its own product, which is a recipe for success in my opinion. They aren’t trying to rival the NFL at this time, so their is no need for concern in that regard, however I do see a potential future where they do, if the NFL continues to disregard player safety, and the XFL continues to grow. Players may leave the NFL to play in the XFL due to starting status, or better safety precarious and transparency. Just look at AJ McCarron, I’m sure many backups will follow. When the XFL does get flooded with backup talent, ratings will increase and so will funding, beginning a trend to lure lower tier starting players to the XFL, and eventually starting to lure high end talent to the XFL.

Honestly, I think its more fun than the NFL. It represents change that the league needs.

Honestly I think XFL should get people who don’t want to play college football and just focus on football

They should try advertising cause I've been fully unaware of any game broadcasts
