We visited Ragusa twice during the last year. If I may ask, why are most of the chuches built so high up with so many steps leading to the church itself. We noticed this not only in Ragusa, but also in other parts of Sicily, like Noto. Thank you

The Val di Noto or Iblean area, from Ragusa to Siracusa is one of the most beautiful in all of Italy. Only in the last 2 decades has it been getting its due recognition. Very proud to come from and live in this paradise on Earth.
