Is there anyway to get Youtube to show me completely random videos on my front page like it used to? I changed all these settings about 2 months back and now I get the same video recommendations no matter how much I refresh Google or the front page and they're always the same videos. I miss when I could open Youtube and just scroll and find interesting random videos. That's what made me like Youtube, now it's starting to feel like TV.

I hate that I watch a true crime video then I'm inundated with hideous crime thumbnails and horrible stories, then there are the same old youtubers who never seem to go away. They act like your crazy ex boyfriend in your face. I need to just stop the whole thing.

PLEASE READ: to actually reset your recommendations on YouTube to show random videos again this is what you have to do: press your account picture at the top right corner and pick the option “settings”. After you’ve gotten in, press the button that says “notifications”. After that, turn off the option that says “recommended videos”. Then go back to the recommendations page and then reload it, all of the videos will be random once again. Hope this helped! (P.S. what the “recommended videos” option does is that it recommends videos based on what you watch.)

Thank you, I'm cleaning up my parents phones after my gen alpha sister used them, its disgusting what ive seen and i want to and need to do something for her and the first thing i can do is to make sure she doesnt see much shit online anymore but also to make it unpleasent for her to be on youtube and spent more time with her together, wish my sister and all other gen alpha kids luck in becoming normal

It doesn't matter anymore what you do, the recommendations feed is completely broken. I have done everything every source proposes, but none of them actually work. The recommendations might be in a different order, but 80%+ recommendations I get are nothing I'm interested in and no channels I'm subscribed to are even remotely similar to the content YouTube is throwing in my face. None of this works in 2023. YouTube is so broken I don't think even YouTube knows how to fix this broken POS website properly anymore. They're so worried about monetisation that it has ruined the YouTube experience. Neal Mohan doesn't care about the experience. He only cares about the revenue these garbage algorithms that they are profiting from. He doesn't give a damn about our experience.

Youtube algorithm is designed to divide people i swear. I made a new youtube account because i was sick of always being shown violent or divisive videos, and straight away was recommended violent and divisive videos

My problem is that my home page always has what I assume are default recommended videos for things I've never shown any interest in such as minecraft or sports. I've literally never played minecraft or watched a single video about it but youtube seemed to think that I'm obsessed with it or something. I just want recommendations that are relevant to me and not just random youtuber "content creator" videos of things like WHO CAN STAY BURIED ALIVE THE LONGEST FOR $10, 000 with the ridiculous thumbnails of insane smiling faces. It seems like the more I click "not interested" or "don't recommend this channel", it just shows me more of the stuff that I don't want to see

It just keeps getting worse. Now almost 50% of the videos I get recommended to me are videos from 5~10 years ago that are still in my old Watch Later playlist. I keep saying I'm not interested in them but the dum YT feed algo keeps telling me to watch these old ass videos that I don't wanna watch.
The feed is completely broken in 2024. You don't get recommendations anymore. You only get more of the same stuff. And no new content.

How do you put the videos all on the screen side by side like usual...Now everything is one at a time not several on the screen at once. How do you switch the videos so there are many on the screen at once like they used to be ???

If I accidentally clicked "don't recommend channel" on a channel I'm subscribed too using TV, and am trying to reset only that on my ipad
How do I do that? Do I have to delete all my history?

Im so confused because randomly my youtube started recommending these super short meme videos I guess? Like 20 seconds long and its really annoying. I hope this changes something
