This is also gonna be the last RWD 1 Series which is a shame, but I was speaking to my local dealer, they said the 2 Series Coupe will also go to FWD but the M240i could be in with a chance of staying RWD.

The styling and the interior is fab, but one thing they didn't mention here is the visibility out is terrible.
I took one for a test drive and found you can't see shit out of the back so you really NEED to tick the parking sensors option!!

Nice little hot hatch. Quite a bit more expensive than the 7th gen Golf GTi but atleast it looks like a fun hot hatch, not like the boring 7th gen Golf GTi. Can't even compare to the very very odd 1st gen A class. Should have had airbag suspension which other Mercedes models have. Why this AMG model doesn't have air suspension? It can't be the lack of space to fit, air suspension is much more compact than springs and shock absorbers together. This would have made it more comfortable and still sporty to drive.

Tell you what... this car is fucking everywhere at the moment. I get the impression everyone one who would've normally bought a Golf, A3 or 1 series, has gone over to Merc. So from that perspective it's a success for Merc. A massive success. Wouldn't buy one myself, but that's just me. It's still a massively popular car.... And it's not a Golf. so.... it's not a bland ugly piece of tat.

To think the current A45s AMG has exactly twice the horsepower this tested one has lol. Mercedes sure can tune a vehicle lol

All other BWM´s look rather good but the 1-series looks kinda awful.

I would think it is for teenagers more than young families. Cool car either way!

Top tip: get a 2wd manual FL A250, better ride, no annoying gearbox(eco mode borderline dangerous) and a couple of grand cheaper.

That A class could keep up with the Bimmer but can’t beat it and the fun bit in that 1 series

As an owner of an A220d Amg Line I can say it's actually really very refined on the road, however the A250 really is harsh due to its AMG suspension. However, they're both better than a 1 series and are much more confidence inspiring than an A3 on a country road.
