This video details the tools and techniques I use when soldering Squareplug SP400 and SP550-S plugs with BTA CA-0678 and Mogami 2314 cable. I go into specific detail at 18:38 about how to fit two Mogami 2314 cables side by side in a SP550-S plug. This technique is effective and clean but does require a little extra technique to get the lid of the plug to screw on correctly.

For a video on how to solder Switchcraft right-angle MIDI plugs, see this video:

Though this video demonstrates how to solder Squareplugs, you can certainly use these soldering techniques on any type of plug and cable. I hope this is helpful to you as you build your board.

This series has been incredibly helpful for me for my pedalboard build. One comment, when I bought the Lambertones soldering iron, I spoke with Kurtis on the phone and he highly recommended soldering outside when using regular lead solder and even using a ventilator mask while doing so 🤷‍♂

Enjoying your tutorials. What temp do you usually set your soldering iron for?
