That’s only for the ps2 slim. If you pushed the open button on a ps2 original it would error out disc tray open.

Same as the original XBOX. I used to do that take out the game then put in a CD while I played. Coolest thing

Certain games let you put in a cd to play music while playing. And if you put certain ps1 games in a cd player you can listen to the music ((skip track 1))

This was the whole reason that Monster Rancher works the way it does to acquire new monsters from CD/DVD.

I've been playing games without a disc for awhile using memory card/sd card mod. On PS2 fat version u can use a HDD which is better.

I accidentally did this playing Spyhunter 2 when I was younger. It let me keep driving for quite a but until backgrounds and assets stopped loading in. The ps2 was a great console.

I used to do this on my PlayStation with gta as a kid I'm pretty sure you can throw A cd in there and listen to your own music while you played!
