My brother is a neuroscientist. He’s told me a few times about the neuropsychological effect horror/gore films have on our human psyche. His words last night: “Movies like Terrorizer are basically blunt trauma to your amygdala, you don’t recover….you THINK you do. Stay away from people who gravitate towards films like this”. He’s not a Christian.

NOPEEE. I grew up watching disgusting and depraved things. 80s horror movies. As a born again Christian. I have less than no interest in that type of thing.

I've found one of the most frustrating things about horror movies is the fear...it's given to the monster/villain/etc. However, it's the fear of the Lord that's the beginning of wisdom. So often it's set up that the monster is to be feared, almost in a reverent way. Even in A Nightmare on Elm Street, Freddy Kruger refers to his knife glove as "god". These films try to make you forget that God exists, and is all-powerful and to be feared. So, I see these films as ways for the demonic to usurp God's reign, much like Satan. Also, I hear a lot of people talk about how gross these films are...they are very disturbing as well. The fact that they exist, imho, is disturbing. "All they that hate me love death.", indeed. But, it's to be expected in a society that crushes it's unborn.

As a best-selling author of faith-based thrillers (Nexus, Advent), I can't justify watching any of the Terrifier films. Even as a fan of suspense and some horror movies, the brutality and gore depicted in films like Terrifier 3 are repulsive. For myself personally, I chose to tell inspiring, exciting, truth-based stories with themes of redemption and forgiveness. I pray everyone uses keen discernment in choosing what to watch and read due to the sheer amount of corrupt entertainment out there. God bless, everyone!

I'm a teacher and I wanted to know what the big deal is about this movie so I did a deep-dive on it this week. And it's SO disturbing. As a Christian teacher, I feel it's part of my job to know what's going on in culture, especially things that can affect my students. This movie is demonic and too violent. I read that this movie is a deeper take on the Hostel carnage. Every one of these movies is just so grotesquely violent that I can't even comprehend. I have not watched any of these films and I never will. It's glorifying the demonic, which is what the Devil wants in these end times. And here's the thing... if people can accept this movie and "enjoy" it, then they've become desensitized to any Christlike attributes. This shows how far we've fallen.
