I wrote bedtime stories for my daughters when they were young. Later, they printed them and made a book of them for my birthday. That’s probably my favorite book.. 😁

You remind me of my grandma. She’s almost 82, and had never had internet, doesn’t have a TV, and has a flip phone she barely uses. Because of no internet, she has amassed thousands of books to learn from. Cookbooks, garden books, history, children’s books. All different kinds. Her small farm and little brick house are magical. She has book shelves on just about every wall. I was reading chapter books in kindergarten and no doubt got good at reading from the many hours spent at her house reading or being read to. It’s like my second home there. I am so busy these days with many projects, but I try to read a little when I’ve got some extra time, which is usually in the winter.

A sun-lit cottage filled with old furniture, books, plants, and wistful art, is truly the best home imaginable.

A lot of people will say Harry Potter, but those books, read throughout my 20s as they were written, got me through some tough times. I am proud to count the characters as my friends and I visit often when I need to reset or comfort myself.

I have a few favorites that I've had for years: Little Lord Fauntleroy, 1906, A Child's Garden of Verses, 1926, and Princess Goldenhair and the Wonderful Flower, 1915. I also love the illustrations and their attention to every detail. XO (P.S. I am 73 and still love my childhood books and all that they represented for me. ;0)

Oh, it has to be ‘ The lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe’ for me, first heard it on the radio (in instalments), which was spell bounding to say the least, then I went onto the book.

I've been watching you for some time. You bring a sense of peace into my evenings, after a long day of work. You seem to be a real kindred spirit, but in this video, when you sat down on your chair, amidst your books, and grinned in delight, I absolutely loved you! Please keep being you and thank you for being willing to share your thoughts and peace with us!

How not only brave, but generous of you to show what is hidden behind your cupboard doors, and freeing - would you agree? - to bring them out. I found a bookcase last Spring the perfect depth for books. I also display stacks on a folding wooden chair and randomly throughout my home. My oldest grandson exclaimed "Wow, I didn't know you had so many books!", in a good way. Books are a multi-layered whole other world, a fantastic escape, a wealth of knowledge at our finger tips. Peace and thank you. 🤗🌻📚

Books are our friends and will take us on adventures to far off lands if we let them. Brilliant using unused space in kitchen cabinets for books. Thank you for sharing.

I just love that shot of you sitting on the chair amongst your "best friends" books and the grin on your face. You remind me of my awesome sister - who got me into reading a while back....and thanks to who I too have many "best friends". Here's to lovely days and nights spent in the company of awesome "friends".
