Bowen Therapy for Rhomboids & Levator Scapulae

Показать описание
If you’re struggling with shoulder stiffness, upper back tension, or neck pain, you’re not alone. Many people experience discomfort in these areas due to poor posture, stress, muscle imbalances, or overuse. The rhomboids and levator scapulae are two key muscles that often contribute to tightness, restricted movement, and discomfort in the upper body.
✔ The rhomboids (major and minor) connect the scapula (shoulder blade) to the spine, helping with shoulder retraction and stability. When tight, they can cause pain between the shoulder blades and restrict movement.
✔ The levator scapulae runs from the upper cervical spine to the top of the scapula and is responsible for lifting (elevating) the shoulder. It’s often a major contributor to neck stiffness and headaches, especially when affected by stress or poor posture.
Bowen therapy is a gentle yet powerful bodywork technique that stimulates the fascia and nervous system, encouraging the body to reset and release tension naturally. Unlike deep tissue massage, Bowen moves use light rolling motions over specific muscles, allowing the body to rebalance without excessive force.
This Bowen move is highly effective for:
✅ Releasing shoulder and neck tension
✅ Improving posture and mobility
✅ Reducing pain between the shoulder blades
✅ Supporting overall musculoskeletal balance
John Wilks has been practising the Bowen Technique and Craniosacral Therapy full time since 1995.
He is a former chairman of the Bowen Association of the UK, the Craniosacral Therapy Association of the UK and the Cranial Forum, the lead body overseeing the national standards of practice for the profession in the UK. He is a former examiner for the University of Oxford examinations board and was an advisor on education and training for the Bowen Forum under the Prince of Wales' Foundation for Integrated Health.
