Best OBS Studio Recording Settings (1080p, 1440p, 4K)

Here are the best OBS Studio recording settings for different resolutions. In this video we show the best recording settings for 1080p, 1440p, and 4K. While these are the settings that work best for us, if you have a low end PC then these may not work for you. Additionally, you may prefer to use a higher quality if you have a high end PC.

Using these settings you should have no lag in your recordings, however, this will depend on your PC's capability.

you're gonna generate huge file sizes like this...as an example, the 1440 settings will be over 500mb per minute.

what video encoder is best if we dont have nvidia options just quicksync h264 / hevc or x264?

i have problem with the amd encoder whenever i want to save replay from replay buffer it does save it but always at low time for example i set replay buffer at 240 s but when i save the replay it saves only 30 s. thats only when i use amd encoder. any fix for it?

If your gonna do something like this to reach the "highest quality" where you don't care about storage, go with a lossless build instead.

Why is the CQP number going UP when the resolution goes up? The lower the number, the more quality encoding. Higher is worse

why are you bumping CQ level up with higher resolutions? CQP works in the way that the lower the number the higher the quality, unless your doing that purely because your getting more pixel density anyway, in which case ignore me 😂

I've got a 4 GB RAM laptop with core i3 8th gen, integrated graphics and HDD disk, i can't record at all videogames with those settings 🤡🤡🤡🤡
