Soft rock ballad was performed live on the final concert of the brotherless Mythology Tour at the Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, CA June 4, 2014. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was nominated for a 1971 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. When back in Florida, niece Samantha Gibb performed with her uncle Barry Gibb at his Love and Hope Ball, and then a few days later on February 21, 2013 at his first solo concert in the U.S. They sang "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart," with Barry's son Steve also on stage as lead guitarist. Samantha Gibb joined her uncle on his Mythology Tour saying , "I get to share the stage with my family and sing and learn from one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our times." This family has suffered more than their share of broken hearts. First Andy, than their father Hugh, then Maurice all gone within a 14 year stretch... Andy and Maurice far too young to have left so soon... Hugh Gibb mourning the loss of his youngest child. Then Robin dies from Cancer. Barry and Leslie, the 2 oldest Gibb children are all that's left. Thank Goodness Barry and Linda had so many children. And Maurice and Robin had a few. It's keeping this beautiful family's legacy alive.

I can't imagine that either of them could get through that without tears in their eyes. I know "I" was crying. But maybe they've done this enough times now that they don't need to tear up anymore. But the very thing that made me cry was Barry, always being the man that he is, to make sure he takes care of his niece...his brothers daughter...who lost her father way too soon. And I agree that she sings very well.
