I was on this train when they filmed it. It was a magical experience. The staff is amazing!!! The food is over the top!!! It is a functioning time capsule and a must do for a person who loves trains.

Insider tip: Take the real and historic route, starting in Paris, not London, and you will be with a different crowd: a mix of French and others who’ve travelled from all over.

This guy needs an input to Amtrak, even if it's only to clean the windows! My trip Chicago - L.A. marred by dirty window in the Observation car.

Just take the Eurostar to Paris, then a TGV to Geneva, then onwards to Venice via Trenitalia. That's the commuter route.

London? The Orient Express was Paris to Venice and on to Istanbul. London is a side trip on a separate English train, plus a ferry (now coach on the Chunnel train) which is met in Calais by the Orient Express train of today.

Here’s an innovation—add a shower car!

It's not as absurdly expensive as I expected. You do get a lot of bang for your buck.

If A/C is being considered then shower availability should be added as well. A tweak here and there would not destroy the overall integrity, imo.
Edit: I've since found out that A/C has been added to the carriages, some time after this was filmed in 2015. As well as a few 1 bedroom suites with an in-room toilet and shower.

At 8:56 the young lady says she's obsessed with the Titanic and this is as close as she's going to get. Does she not know that the Cunard Line still has the Ocean Liner Queen Mary 2 making regularly schedule trans Atlantic crossings from South Hampton to New York (a 7day voyage).
