Excellent video. I have a 2022 model that I’ve put over 18, 000 trouble free miles on. Your mod list is spot on. Many people overlook the flywheel weight but it is a game changer.

I jumped at the chance of getting a Vortex here in Germany. Only had to wait two weeks. Absolutely no chance of a GET etc. Other than less jerkeyness I wanted the bike to run richer. Stock I felt the bike ran lean AF. I want the piston to last. Now I can go near the exhaust. One thing I love about this bike: It looks wicked. A handsome chuggernaut.

Your videos are some of the best regular guy reviews here on YouTube. Somehow you need to find a way to get more views. Very helpful, keep em coming!

I really like my '19 when I was out in the desert. All i did was the flywheel weight, and 14t front sprocket. Just turning the idle up on tighter trails made the bike more flowy by lessening the engine braking, and with the flywheel weight I could sit in second gear all day with smooth grunt right off idle. Had I stayed in the desert I would have kept the 450L, it was great for faster open terrain.

I have all the same mods with the exception of a Vortex Ecu. Love my 2019 went from unrideable to a smooth bike. I am 65 years old and it tamed the beast.

I made two of these mods to my CRF450RL, although with different brand products.
I have a Vortex ECU and an FMF Megabomb header and Q4 muffler.
In addition, suspension springs for my weight, knobby tires, 52-tooth rear sprocket, and 2021 CRF450R throttle cables (much shorter and use a shorter and more direct routing allowing the minimum throttle grip free play) are other well-worth mods I've done to mine.
Great video.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. 🎄🎅🎉🎊

By Owning one of these bikes in my opinion the ECU is the most important upgrade. I did mine ( vortex) and it went from a flaming out turd to a completely different bike with lots more power. Now having said that a complete after market exhaust should be installed as well in my opinion of course. They just seem to give you the complete package of performance. Once I did this I had no more flaming out issues. I haven’t changed the fly wheel weight because it’s no longer an issue.

I've done them all except for the flywheel. I used the Nomad tank as it's made here in Australia. The TacoMoto ECU is awesome, so smooth on and off the throttle. The clutch feeds in the power perfectly.

I've got the adventure spec mini fairing on mine which I love, makes for a perfect place for a nav device and usb power, so my mods in order are: 1. ECU, 2. IMS tank, 3. Adv Spec Mini fairing, 4. Exhaust (FMF PC4 and a 450x header, 5. Seat (I have the Acerbis one)

I like your editing. Great vid. I am warming up to the idea of getting back into Honda.

Have the seat, exhaust, tank and AIM ECU. I dont feel like I want a heavier flywheel as I dont tend to tractor my bike. Its all clutch for me.

I am having a hard time choosing tue right tire, though. Can someone recommend a good all around desert set? I've been using the Tusk D-Sport DOT tires, but im not sure if its givng me the performance I want. I feel like front end grip is really lacking.

Sweet video. My 501 build is coming along nicely with many similar TMC sourced goodies. Yeah yeah I know it's not red....😁 Ride ON!

Is there no O2 sensor on that fuel injected bike?

I am looking at purchasing a CRF450RL in the near future. I have seen from a YouTube video that the exhaust gets really hot. The person on the video showed it even got his bags he was carrying really hot. Do you think an aftermarket exhaust has less heat because of no catalytic converter? Great video.

Great video! I heartedly agree! One question: Does adding the flywheel weight make the bike rev slower? Or is that even detectable? Also, a cheap exhaust alternative is purchasing the 450 X headpipe through Honda, and a FMF Q Muffler. Around $500 total. And quiet too. Just not as quiet as stock. Nothing is.

I have all of those mods on my 22 and its a whole different bike than what I bought…if I may ask what kind of phone holder is that on your bike?

Hi I'm currently looking into this bike, I wonder if it has anti theft features, like does or have a key at least? What would you do if you want to use it to roll into town she grabbing a coffee or a bite to eat?

Great video bro. I'm doing research on a new dual sport as I've been many years out of the sport. I'm torn between the Honda 450 and KTM 350 EXCF - prefer reliability and easier maintenance but not sure if the weight difference would be a significant factor. Opting for street legal since I intend to use the bike for short daily trips to gym and then ride on trails/beach/desert when opportunity presents itself on weekend. If I went the 450 route, I would aim to install a Rekluse clutch to minimize stalling. I think either bike has enough power and so I would work on riding ability. I look forward to seeing more of your vids.
