This is really a perfect way of teaching. You started developing API using simple flask and then taught flask-restful. After learning it at my college,
I was still thinking, if we can develop API using simple flask, why do we use flask-restful! But now it is clear.

Wow this makes loads of sense after coming back again a few months later. Definitely seeing how flask-restful makes the code a lot more readable as compared to using the vanilla flask library alone! Had a "wooah now that is cool" moment just now haha xD Great work!
