STAR WARS Read Along Book & Record/Tape, HD, book form

This is the STAR WARS Read Along "Book & Record" or "Book & Tape" that many of us grew up with in the early 80s. Unlike the other versions that I've found here, this video that I've constructed includes both sides, video of all pages and clean audio. I also chose to show the pages side-by-side to replicate the experience of reading the actual book. I hope that this high-quality version makes it easier to enjoy and re-live part of our childhoods.

This record pre-dated VHS in my family. Outside of the film occasionally being on TV, or shown at the library,  this was the only way to experience Star Wars for me as a little kid. I actually had to have this record replaced two or three times because I'd sit in my room and listen to it over and over again. Hearing the voice of the narrator is so soothing to me; like a warm blanket and my mother's mac and cheese. Thank you so much for posting this.

Thank you very much for uploading. When I was a child I read this book many times I got to memorize it completely. Today, more than thirty-five years later, I can still recite entire sentences and paragraphs. I'm Spanish speaking, and I really learned much English vocabulary thanks to these books. It had been many years since I heard this book because we stop using the cassette at home, like everybody, but today I shouted phrases like "We'll be destroyed for sure!" or "How dare you attack us, Lord Vader?" or "Luke, use the Force. Let it guide your actions" ... Fantastic. Today, you have made me happy. Thank you.

That R2 D2 "turn the page" beep is burned into my childhood memory. That particular beep used to be what came to mind whenever I thought of R2.

Great job. This is the first youtube upload of this stuff that actually feels 'useable'/useful (ie a single video for both sides of the tape and the ability to look at a complete 2-page spread at once in fullscreen mode).

This was the only way to had Star Wars inmy childhood, there was no vhs, or movie to see, otherwise than in a movie teather. THanks, I have this tape, but there are no more cassette players!

Oh my god, the first piece of Star Wars merchandise I ever owned. This is a 100% nostalgia overload!! I used to listen to this over and over again (that is until I got the Buena Vista LP with the real actors).
Another thing, listening to this in hindsight, doesn't the actor who plays Obi Wan in this sound like Ewan McGregor?? (Sadly though, Vader sounds like he's been on the helium!!) Totally brilliant to hear this again,  Mega kudos for uploading this, love it to bits!!!

I remember having this book & record when I was young . i also had the "The Empire Shrikes Back", and "The Woks Joins the FigHt" as well.
