It's also the biggest hobby of my grandmother: she grows plants, flowers, vegetables, and fruits here. Sometimes we also come here for a day away from the city. This was absolutely fascinating!! I had no idea how elaborate dachas were. It really is like a mini-house with everything you could need to live there--though maybe not so comfortable for long-stays lol! It was so interesting to see this from the perspective of someone who has only read about dachas in books or online. Also--the history of dachas in Russia at the start of the video was very helpful to understand their history & significance. Great content Niki!

Your granny's dacha is lovely -- so well organized and colorful. I live in a big city in the U.S. It would be nice to escape to a dacha. Your granny is a hard worker. It seems like most are -- and they're good at putting one to work :-) The shish kababs looked so good.

Great video, Niki! I've been fascinated by dachas since I first heard of them in the 1970's. I have a friend who lives in a Swedish city who also owns such a place, outside of town, where she grows vegetables, fruit, and herbs. It was great to see your mom and grandma!
