"Norway's prisons aren't cheap.."

US: Yup, we're out.

This should only be for minor offenders not felons like rapists, murderers, pedos etc

So instead of paying for graphic design school I can just go to Norway, do a crime and get it for free in prison? *Note* I live in a country where you don't pay for school so this is directed to places where you do pay, not Norway. But people are probably sentenced in the country they come from so my comment is unnecessary

Inmate: can I go out side?
Guard: just be back before bedtime🤣

This is how prisons were intended to work
As REHABILITATION centres, not as places for physical and physiological trauma that eventually worsen the situation of the inmate

"If you treat them like an animal, they become an animal."

This is why people in US prison get WORSE.

No prisoner should live better than an ordinary citizen.

The punishment is the loss of freedom. Once they're in there, the focus needs to be on humanization and rehabilitation.

21 years for killing 77 people? This is disturbing. Imagine someone killing your child, mother, father, brother or sister and being given an apartment with a kitchen, big screen TV, patio, for a few years then released. I feel so sad for the families of the victims. It makes me sick to my stomach.

I live in Norway, they don’t deserve this. We treat criminals better then the victims it’s disgusting

Although this seems ridiculous, if you look at the numbers, they have way less reoffenders then in the states. They must be doing something right.

I love this. They should do this for the US. It works there being treated like human beings and they have opportunities to not reoffend. It also gives them a better outlook on life.
