The Story Of The Alfa Romeo '916' GTV And Spider

Produced between 1994 and 2004, the #GTV and #Spider “916” are perhaps the most collectible #AlfaRomeo models of the modern era.
And it’s easy to see why: their design looks every bit as fresh and attractive now as it did a quarter of a century ago.
Add to the mix the lusty “Busso” V6 engines or the characterful Twin Spark 16 valve four cylinders, and the cachet of being the last Alfa models ever manufactured at the historic Arese site, and it’s no surprise that prices for good survivors are firming up.
I've made this video in collaboration with Sfera Channel, which provided the stunning footage of the yellow "phase 2" Spider and rare "phase 3" GTV.

It's an absolute joy to own and drive. My 1998 Phase 1 916 TS Spider Lusso. Grigio Chiaro (a beauiful silver) in colour and only 45, 000 kms. Bought it 4 years ago for a bargain $11, 000 now worth twice that and climbing. A 1 owner car with original everything including paint. Total love affair drive, and my 7th Alfa Romeo.

These cars still look unique and modern. The design was ahead of its time. I think they had a concept called Proteo as well.

I bought a 1996 Phase 1 Twin Spark 2.0 GTV (Rosso Red) in January 2008. Been in storage since 2013, but I am now restoring it. Brilliant cars.

I remember when these were new. There was a billboard I passed on the way to work which made me drool. Later the V6 GTV was released and it looked so good it hurt. The 916 had flaws but they are so lovely as are most Alfas. This channel makes me smile... Alot! 😎

Funny enough, I lived in walking distance of Alfa’s historic Arese plant while owning a green 916 Gtv 2.0 TS in the early 2000s, my absolute dream car at the time. 😍 Not exactly a 🚀 with a laughable trunk, but we loved it and put a lot of kms on it. Thx for the memories.

Gran macchina, ne ho una anche io. 3.2 V6 del 2003 (GTV).
Avuta anche la 2.0 Twin Spark del 96, sempre bella ma il motore giusto è il 24v 3.0/3.2.
Anche come design preferisco la terza serie, che con il kit aerodinamico parziale (che consisteva nel labbro in plastica sotto al paraurti anteriore, per carenare le ruote e quindi migliorare la resistenza aerodinamica) e i cerchi da 17 è splendida, con un assetto ribassato di 1/1.5 cm poi ancora meglio!
E delle 3 serie è quella sicuramente invecchiata meno, sembra uscita ieri. Bel video, uno dei pochi interessanti su questo modello 👏

I had a '96 Gtv for nearly 6 years, dark blue with white leather interior. Great handling car, loved it so much, I've had many nice memories of it. To me the first ones were the best looking, I didn't really like the front on the phase 3's, it was atrocious compared to the subtle scudetto of it's predecessors. Was hoping to buy a Ph1 Busso Gtv again one day, but the prices keep rising... Great video as always, thank you for your amazing work!
