i am pretty sure the sith lured the strongest jedi elsewhere for "peace talks" so Coruscant was left undefended mostly

Didn't we learn earlier that the Jedi Temple was over a dark sids nexus...

It would make Jedi more vulnerable and Sith able to tap into their full self. Although home to the Jedi... it was clearly an advantage for the Sith...

I would have guessed it was because the Sith forces were all combatants. While some of the Jedi we see were only students or members of the order who were less skilled in combat?

Any better-skilled Jedi fighters would already be in a warzone, not kept behind on Corasaunt.
