I'm a professional interpreter. I'm curious as to why all black is the norm? I've had multiple clients tell me they hate interpreters wearing all black, so I try to jazz it up by wearing other contrasting colors like grey, blue, or even maroon

When I would use ASL in my college choir concerts, I would also wear white gloves so that my hands were highly visible, since we were all wearing black.

Not aure if you know the answer but when i took asl in college (only a few classes) the teacher mentioned the wearinf black thing for interpreters of darker skintones is it encouraged to wear white/light solid colors?
