Is it a BAD IDEA to buy a USED 2016 C7 Corvette Z06? - Raiti's Rides

When the C7 Corvette ZO6 came out on to the scene there was a mixture of cheers and tears! On one hand the car was now supercharged and could be bought with an automatic, and on the other enthusiasts were saying that it lost it's way. At the end of the day what we have is a top performing Corvette with 650hp and 650ft lbs of torque. Is there any reason to fear buying a used 2016 Corvette ZO6?

I clicked on the video expecting an opinion on buying a used Z06. I personally don't think it is a bad idea but I was hoping for some insight into why it is or isn't a bad idea. This was just a review and the title was not relevant.

I've had my '17 Z06/07 for going on two years now. I absolutely love it. It has been bulletproof and is incredibly practical. I drive it all year long up here in Saskatchewan Canada with studded winter snow tires on it. It's amazing how planted the car is. I have no problem driving on snow and ice covered roads with it, and that is where the automatic transmission really comes in handy. The transmission switches gears so quickly in automatic, and changes just before 2000 rpm so you're always hooked up. You just lightly press the gas pedal and the car is constantly accelerating regardless of the road surface. I could never change the gears and keep the car in the traction like that with a manual transmission.

This guy never answers the question but I will. I actually own a C7 Z06 manual and the car is bad ass. Buying one used saves a lot of money and the car is unbelievable. I can’t say anything bad about it. Now I’m saving up for a used C8 Z06 when I can get one.

Love my 2016 Shark Grey Z06. I added the black racing stripes. Couldn't be happier with the look and performance this car has! The sound the supercharger makes when you get on it is music to my ears.

The supercharger is not inverted. Idk why he says this or where he got that from! Its a roots style supercharger not a centrifugal one for instant boost and power, no waiting for boost here, its almost as if its naturally aspirated. Only give away is the whine!!! I have a 2015 CTS-V coupe and a 2019 corvette Z06 love them both and both have around 800hp now.

I just bought (5/22/2023) a 2016 Z06, 3LZ, convertible with 39, 222 miles on it. It is an automatic. It is Daytona Sunrise Orange Metallic. It does have the air vents painted body color. It is amazing. Thanks for this video and all your videos Joe!

Another terrific Raiti review. I'm not a C7 fan, but that's a good looking car. Your comment about the 84-96 C4 hood did not go unnoticed. I wish all front engine sports cars would do something similar as access to the engine compartment was unprecedented.

I bought a C7 2019 1LT, 7 speed manual with only 8857 miles in May of 2022. It’s in Red, I traded my Mustang GT 2019 manual with 7700 miles. Mustangs are cool, but the Corvette is a different breed, I’m extremely happy great car!

This color is Shark Gray not Watkins Glen Gray. The WGG was not introduced until 2017 and this car is a 2016. The WGG is darker and also has an iridescent quality changing from gray to black depending on lighting.

Two thumbs up to Chevrolet for making such an awesome car. It's nice to know that you can buy an American made car and compete very capably with the import competition.

I test drove a manual 2015 ZO6 in sport mode yesterday, not in "weather" mode as the roads were damp on the drive. At 50 MPH, I gave it a little throttle blip (as a car was on my ass), only to experience the rear end spin the car counterclockwise by about 15 degrees. Wasn't expecting the rear to move out from underneath me so damn easily. I just let off the gas and let the steering
straighten on it's own. Kind of scary, as that could have gone into full spin out and possibly a roll. The 4, 000 mile car had nearly bald tires. Lesson learned: Control that power!

This brings back good memories I remember my ant recently got a 2016 z06 and one day me and my cousin went out in the corvette to get gas for it and after we got gas he got on the highway and just slammed on the gas and that was the first time I experienced a fast car we went 145mph

Sports cars are 3 pedal only regardless how efficient an automatic can accelerate you never have the control that manual will give you. Let’s not forget how much fun they are and rewarding when done right. Hence Sports car.
