Icon VS Snap On wrenches why are we still arguing about this?

Icon and Snap-on Wrenches have already been tested and compared for years. Icon is a good value, Snap-on is slightly better, but there are even better wrenches made in the USA like Wright Grip 2.0 or Proto ASD wrenches.

The way I look at it is it's good for all these anti-slip wrenches because then everybody's comparing icon to Snap-on to write to Proto Matco Milwaukee which Milwaukee icon are basically the same and then don't forget Mac

I'm an industrial tech so "fuck that fastener" is a daily mantra cuz I'll just replace it. With that being said, the craftsman overdrive isn't super aggressive and can be used more often, but jave 6 point box.
The icon ramped anti-slip ratcheting wrenches i have zero complaints with, I'll use them paired with my precision torque when a 2nd wrench is needed.

The mac/usag rbrt style and icon/milwaukee/insert 10 other brands here are a bit too aggressive for most daily use.

Cabo makes them Harbor Freights iqonline and the channel lock hand in Napa and the Milwaukee and I'm pretty sure they make the new Macco ones too

Because it's Christmas time and if you are a wanna be mechanic buy icon if you are a professional buy snap-on.

I dont care how Harbor Freight gets their wrenches. For the price I will keep purchasing Icon. The tool trucks are highway robbery and thats being nice. In the end they are just tools and if I can spend less for good tools, that leaves more in my pocket for my family. The only time I ever had a tool break was when I was either using the tool improperly or expected more from the tool than it was designed for.

So the guy who started this has hundreds of thousands in tools from snap on.
He is somehow coerced by harbor freight to post a video where Icon wins .
You act like harbor freight never had a sale until now .
Get a grip

Nylon test is not useless. If it grips so good then it shouldn't slip. Dont KID yourself!

I also thought it "coincidental" that Harbor Freight had a big sale a few days after the video was released. Napa had the Carlyle version on this month's specials. I wasn't aware that the Channellock wrenches were the same. The nylon nut parlor trick was used by Snap-on to demonstrate the superiority of their Flank Drive box ends versus all the competitions pointed box ends. Since the patent ran out almost every wrench manufactured today has some form of off corner loading on their box ends. I imagine it is the same case for the Flank Drive Plus patent on open ends. Bonney's Loc-Rite off corner loading system actually came out one year prior to Snap-on's Flank Drive. Snap-on is a household name and Bonney disappeared over two decades ago.

Snap-on has become prodigiously expensive in the last 10 years or so. They are out of reach for the average Joe who wrenches on his personal vehicles evenings and weekends. ICON offers similar attractive looks and a similar warranty at a price the everyday citizen with a headache can afford. Are they as good as Snap-on? No. It's been proven that the ICON open ends spread and round steel fasteners where the Snap-on holds. The ICON wrenches are a decent enough product for general use. They aren't bad as a beginner set for someone entering the automotive trade until they can afford better. They'll get most jobs done and won't break the bank.

I’m pretty sure what made the video blow up was, ppl want to know who makes the best wrench 🔧 and it was a snap on fan who tried the test and
I also agree the test should have been on a harder material although it’s a test that allegedly been around for a long time

i have craftsman metric wrenches with no anti slip. I also have a small set of metric channel lock wrenches from a few years back that I really only use on bolts that are super rusty and whatnot. I had recently bought a 14 piece set of the Pittsburgh regular SAE wrenches, which I had never used in the couple weeks I had them.

Then I saw the sale where you could get the Icon set of anti slips for half off and I returned my Pittsburgh wrenches and picked up the SAE icons. When I got home the first thing I noticed was the design was damn near exact same as the channel locks.

Did they copy other designs? Sure, they probably did. But the bottom line is they are some of the best wrenches on the market and I got them for 60 bucks. On top of that their warranty is industry leading currently. It was a no brainer.

It mainly I think it is about the price difference. A lot of people can't afford snapon so guess they are trying to show a more affordable option and comparing them.

You have to ask yourself if why the Icon wrenches are very good quality for $100. Then why are snap on same equivalent priced at $700?

Because 40% off I’m ready to test them out lol

Hahaha. I was thinkin the same thing bro! We need Alex Jones on this shit pronto! Dude, you gotta watch the latest Den of Tools vid, he has a full on emotional meltdown over this latest Snap-On fiasco. It had me doubled over laughing. On top of all that, I believe they've now extended the sale. I love tools, but the end of the day there just tools. That said, love my Wrightgrip! Lol. All the grip without chewing up fasteners👍

You can’t compare Hobo Freight wrenches to Snap On flank drive plus. Only the poor people fall for this nonsense
