In order to contribute to the implementation of SDG Climate Action and SDG 13.3, “Build knowledge and capacity to meet climate change” UNESCO IITE organized a webinar Teaching to beat climate change. Distinguished speakers are sharing their experience and expertise, empowering teachers with practical instruments and materials on how to teach learners of every age group about how to be greener, how to recycle, and how to consume less.
Achieving SDG 13 entails improving education, raising awareness and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning.
The expected outcomes of the webinar include strengthening cooperation among educators at different levels, exchange of ideas and mutual enrichment through sharing of various subject- and topic-related platforms and teaching materials databases.
The webinar target audience are educators, such as secondary to high school teachers of UNESCO ASPnet schools and beyond, including those at TVET and in universities.
