Hundreds of supporters of the Malheur refuge occupation and the Bundy family converged at the Utah Capitol on March 5, 2016, to honor a "fallen hero" and the "patriots" imprisoned in the fight for freedom for which the armed encampment claimed to stand. Jeanette Finicum told the 200 to 300 well-wishers gathered on the Capitol's south steps that she believes LaVoy, her husband, was trying to show police he was no threat when they shot him at a "kill stop" they set up on an Oregon highway.

Murdered. disgusting behavior by those officers. They won't ever sleep again if they are human.

All the press conferences by law inforcement has comments disabled.  My question is why do they shoot into a vehicle with a child in it and not try to negotiate the childs release. How do you surrender when your being shot at at the same time? They had to be terrified.

they assassinated him plain and simple, they attacked the branch divideans and slaughtered dozens of men women and children, the same way the attacked the weavers at ruby ridge,

He told the cops they were gonna have to shoot him. I dont get why they kept shooting at the people inside the truck. I'm trying to learn more about this case but this case seems strange from both sides.

"Who knows how many times"? I thought she had an autopsy done.

Also she must not have seen Coxs video footage from inside the truck, since it clearly shows Lavoy repeatedly telling the officers to shoot him during both stops.

I want an investigation on how LaVoy managed to burn through 50 foster children on his ranch starting with are they all alive and accounted for?

She must not have seen the video. He did not comply with orders and was reaching for his gun

I wonder if this poor woman will ever be able to face the fact that her husband stubbornly caused his own death and selfishly left her and their children to fend for themselves?

It certainly appears to have been an ambush. Robert LaVoy Finicum should have left his 9mm semi automatic handgun in his truck. The fact that he had it in his jacket pocket was the key evidence upon which law enforcement relied to justify killing Mr. Finicum. None of the video supports the law enforcement assertion that he reached for his gun. At no point in any of the videos released by law enforcement does LaVoy Finicum have a weapon of any kind in his hands. It's reasonable to question why any law enforcement officer would shoot and kill a person whose hands were empty and raised above his head. That act motivates many who have examined this incident to state unequivocally that the Oregon State Police officers murdered LaVoy Finicum. There is certainly more than sufficient video evidence to strongly suggest that the OSP unnecessarily used deadly force. There is no evidence that LaVoy Finicum threatened law enforcement at any point during the incident. It seems obvious that had law enforcement simply followed Mr. Finicum and his group to their meeting with the Sheriff in the next county, the entire situation could have been avoided.

Why did he not listen to the troopers during the first stop? This is strange.

I can't believe that she used the "women in the truck" card in an age when people like Hillary and Warren are demanding that women be in combat. When we truly have equal rights?

Finicun said he wasn't going to be taken alive. He openly carried a weapon while violating 18USC:111A with an enhanced penalty, 20 years. He had an armed felon in the vehicle when he fled the felony stop. Bundy didn't want to run  and argued with Finicun. He was traveling at a high rate of speed,  when he dodged the spike strips that covered the right side of the road Which put him on the left side of the road where he left the road,  narrowly missing a State Trooper by about two feet. That's a wanton assault with a motor vehicle in any state.. When the vehicle bogged he fled the vehicle. If he was so worried about public safety he wouldn't have fled at a high rate of speed. He then fled the vehicle and failed to comply with the officers sop of down on the ground hands on your head.  They didn't say hold your arms out like Jesus and reach to your side where a weapon  was found. That right there is not one but three justifications for the use of deadly force, in any state by any cop including Sheriffs. Now that state Trooper is going to get up every morning just like you and think about Finicun and pray he doesn't get put in that position again.  Lavoy was probably a nice guy and likely had more horse stories than I've owned horses, no one's going to hear those stories now. The reason for that is he listened to people like Bundy and Palmer. Bundy had his own axe to grind and he didn't care who got hurt, that's obvious. For Palmer who said he would protect Lavoy, well if he wanted  to protect him why didn't he give them a police escort? If he thought the law was on his side. The reason is that he didn't want to go to jail with the rest of them. He just wanted to be a part of something that would get him his 15 minutes of fame and a couple  votes Now set back and watch Palmer run as fast as he can from any association with the stand off. He'll run his mouth, but he wont ever say he was a part of it. He wasn't assassinated, It wasn't a kill stop which I've never heard of and if it was an ambush  as some say,  everyone was in the wrong place and everyone including Finicun walked away from it . Nice guy probably but he didn't have a lick of street sense and he wasn't going to prison. Its true you live by the gun you die by the gun. Naïve yeah Hero no ... I have 32 combat operations in my Marine Corp SRB.  I know what an ambush looks like and that wasn't an ambush .Sometimes the truth hurts, but it's still the truth. While its also true he probably didn't have a mean bone in his body and was unlike most of them.
