Props to the cameraman for being able to go out there and get all this amazing footage

Technically, any planet that can't potentially support life is a terrifying planet for anyone.

Good video, but just one small point. "Our Solar system" is the ONLY Solar system, as we orbit the star named Sol. Planets around other stars are part of THAT star system. For instance, planets orbiting the star Rigel are part of the Rigelian system. Planets around Alpha Centauri, are Alpha Centaurian system planets, etc.

This. Is definitely in the top most awesome videos on YouTube or anywhere. It’s so special and beautiful, it should have 14.5 billion views. But people would rather get diversion from a crazy music video, etc.

It's terrifying that some planets are younger than Queen 👑 Elesabeth

As a kid this event was amazing! Star Wars just came out so NASA rode the new intrest in space. It was on the news a lot. When the first pictures of Jupiter came out it was on every front page.

Fortunately, it's not our solar system.

The more information we get about the solar system the more I think it’s a spaceship in itself

All these planets think their so dangerous...they've obviously never been to Earth.

The Voyager spacecrafts are so remarkable in their design and longevity. It boggles the mind. The JWST has been in space for just a few weeks and has been damaged already. But, 14.5 billion miles of space travel hasn't damaged the Voyagers like the JWST has been in just weeks. Pretty darn amazing.

As far as asteroids not hitting earth in the future, look up Apophis. Several years ago NASA made the prediction that Apophis would likely hit earth. It's big too. Then, within a year they said it won't hit earth but will come in lower than the most satellites orbit, likely knocking out a few. It will be visible to the naked eye. However, several astrophysics groups have found that the newer NASA calculations, where Apophis is only a close flyby, were wrong and were done so as to not worry the public. The date this asteroid will come close, or more likely hit earth, is April 13, a Friday, 2029. Yes, this asteroid is scary and either way, will freak out the public.

I can see it now. NASA will pull out of retirement one of the space shuttles in a museum, fix it up, call Bruce, and away they go. I bet SpaceX will help out a bit too.

You know what would be crazy? If our impact on Dimorphous was such that it somehow kickstarted life on the asteroid. I know it doesn't have life sustaining elements as far as we can tell, but we have been wrong about things before. Imagine we explode the section of it and in that spot, just under the surface, there was water. And I know it's a stretch, it's not in a habitable zone yadda yadda, but say we were to do this to an asteroid in the future and it somehow got caught in a similar orbit to our own, it had the building blocks for water and somehow our explosion big banged the thing, creating life. We would technically be gods. We could then populate the universe with this thing. (This is more fi than sci lol)

I don't think you would ever reach the core. The density of the air would stop your falling eventually and if not that a gas planet that large surely has a massive ocean of liquid metallic hydrogen much like jupiter

13 billion year old planet?
It must have went through alot of stages in its life
