How I See The UK After 9 Years Living in China (I was SHOCKED!)

I went home to the UK after 9 years...I was shocked at what I saw.

I would imagine at least 90% of the UK population still think China is still worse, in terms of living standards, infrastructure, health care, education, etc. than them. The government, schools and mainstream media have been talking China down for decades resulting in not only ignorance towards China but also a hostile attitude.

Sounds like you have not been to China, particularly Beijing, for quite a long time. Beijing has now, most of the time, a beautiful, clean/clear blue sky. The fact is that China has been moving steadily forward, and the UK has just been doing the opposite.

On western pollution statistics websites you can actually see that most days of the year, Beijing has now less pollution than some of the major US and other Western big cities. China is changing very rapidly since 1949. Every decade brings changes that other country take half a century

The first half of the video with all the negativities about China is really a "generation issue." China only took four decades to transform and modernize it's country going from poverty to the second biggest economy in the world with world class infrastructure. The average lifespan of a human is 70 years, one generation. China's rapid development merely outpaced the rules of etiquette but it's society will be more in sync with the western world through future generations no longer raised under poverty as the past.

I have travelled to the UK quite often for the past several years. London, while very interesting with wonderful bookshops and museums is expensive and very poor value for money. Post Covid, I once waited 2 hours to clear security at Heathrow. The trains were not in the best state of repair and were often inexplicably delayed. There were homeless people camped out at the main entrance to King’s Cross station. Edinburgh was only marginally less expensive than London. Newcastle and the Scottish highlands were pleasant.

In contrast, China is much more affordable and their trains are superb. Their airports are new and efficient.

As for the much vaunted British orderliness, I can assure you that there was nothing orderly in the mad scrum in the tube station when a huge crowd of football supporters rushed into the underground station.

You cant do a video comparing if you were not in China 10 years ago, let's look at the changes in China in the last 40 years It was ultra impressive, and the changes are accelerating, so subtract the last 10 years of China and surely things changed a lot and at a greater speed than the previous decades.

The British Prime Minister changed 5 times in 14 years, and the shortest course of treatment was only 2 months. Shocking!.
